jb's Pup
Got a few pictures in the mail from jb, including a couple of his new pup. Not sure of the name (or the breed??), but I think it may be Gummy or something like that? I don't think it's too costly to maintain, and for sure it's a fine looking dog.

That may be the breed, Glenn! jb said that my post asking for skunk remedies, and ending up with praises and accolades for Bones prompted him to send pictures of his fine friend, though he was a bit concerned that Bones might be jealous if I let him see the pictures..... All of that was before I'd seen any pictures, or had any idea of the breed, only that he was sending pictures of his dog for me to admire....Roger

Well!
I didn't expect that!
To click on to an international hot-rod site and see pictures of my dog . . . amazing!
He's made entirely of rubbish, four pairs of old gumboots, scraps of 3 x 2 for the body and old broken fence battens for the legs.
His eyes are cut from the top of an icecream container, (Charlie should have plenty of them,) the pupils are Lion Brown beer bottle caps, and the tongue is a seedling container . . . all held together with the bolts and screws we've all got sitting around.
He's a good watchdog though, whenever people see him they burst out laughing; thereby alerting us to their presence.
And yes; he's cheap to feed, and the vet bills are zero . . . do you think I should have him micro chipped in case he gets stolen? Because he's very friendly, and would go with anybody . . .

I hope you have him registered too John Boy as the District Council needs all the money they can get.... Read the NZ Herald this morning and I see that New Plymouth town has had more sun shine then any other town so far this year, now if you could just get that wind to stay down Wellington way... Sorry to digress....I maybe a little crazy but it stops me going insane.

No way!
He might get travel sick, and I'd hate to think of what might spew out from the insides of old gumboots!johnboy

Probably not too much work to scoop up after eh? When you take him for a walk it's probably easy to get him to heel. If I were Canadian I'd say "How boot that?".Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon

Just as a point of interest: that area where he's standing is just outside the top door to my shed, and was a pain it the butt for quite some time.
When the plumbers put the sewerage line in they didn't bury it to optimum depth, and it's barely an inch below the surface across there; way too shallow for me to lay concrete over it.
So that area is all crusher fines and pea metal.
We lived in the flat immediately through and above the door behind the dog while we built the new house, and I would walk small stones inside on my boots . . . which would upset She Who Must Be Obeyed greatly.
So I painted it.
All the scrag ends of paint we accumulate over the years with an inch in the bottom . . . not enough to be of any use, but too much to throw away got utilised there.
That paint would now be about an 1/8"th of an inch thick.
And it works!
No more small stones tramped inside!
It might not look too flash at the moment; but one day it will become a uniform colour . . .johnboy
