The integrity and soundness of the 777 has been well established for 11/12 years. For it to suddenly vanish with no mayday indicates something other than a problem with the plane.

jack---I see you are from Issaquah---Do you work for Boeing???
B777 came out around 93---I flew it till end of 1997---
This flight being 6 I/2 hours would of had 2 pilots---over 8 hours there is relief crew member---
That area of the world has thousands of possibilities, and most likely the aircraft wasn't the cause .

The news reports we are receiving point that way too Jerry, absolutely no contact from anybody on board seems to point towards an onboard explosion of some sort and differently not aircraft failure. Very sad for all the families waiting and praying for a miracle .I maybe a little crazy but it stops me going insane.

word out now is that two passengers had stolen pass ports--------
last word was 2 hours into flight----that's about when a pilot would have made a potty trip, maybe other pilot let xxxxxx in by mistake a minute or so later---------
I would make a prediction that this is a test by terrorists, and can ecpect to see it down the road in the near future on some flight to the USA

Hi Jerry,
No, I don't work for Boeing but know many people who did or still do. Just repeating what is a well known fact, I didn't remember that the 777 had been around that long, my how time flies, (pun intended). My personal thoughts pretty much follow yours.

Yesterday a female reporter on Fox News said that "there have been numerous problems with the Boeing 777 in the past" (or some words to that effect) and she cited the accident in San Francisco a few months back as an example. You can hardly blame that one on the airplane. The first officer who was attempting the landing had fewer hours than I had on a 1946 Cessna 140 I owned back in the 1970's.
As Jerry indicated, the 777 has been in service since 1993.
The deaths are the first ever for that aircraft.

A few different sceneros----------
A: as I already indicated--a terrorist test-------they have done these before
B:Aircraft blown up by altitude triggered bomb ( 35,000 and/or 7-8000 cabin altitude)
C:Captain had a 777 simulator at his home?????? He could of flown the a/c somewhere else---he had 7 hours fuel----last radar contact was as it was reaching fl350 and it started a turn? transponder turned off, they could of flown for hours (night time) in another direction--while co pilot was out of cockpit, captain could of put on O2 mask and turned off cabin pressurization--every one except for him would of expired from lack of oxygen, then he could of flown anywhere within aprox 4000 mile radius---------
Reasons for him to do this???? the bird, drugs, cargo (sometimes there are tons of GOLD shipped on these flights), etc, etc
D:?????????????

Just goes to show that it's all pure conjecture until there is some firm evidence to consider. It would be terrible to have a loved one that was confirmed on that flight, and to have no one that can offer anything certain about their fate.Roger

He may be referring to this morning's (network) newscast that they have ruled out the 12 mile oil slick on the ocean since no debris field developed, and they know very little about who the two guys traveling with stolen passports really are/were. Even the guys who are close to the event are still scratching their heads, so throwing out ideas about what happened from 1/2 way around the world..... I'll leave that to Tom Clancy, Nelson DeMille, and the other wealthy fiction writers.Roger
