It finally dawned on me that about five laps from the end the field is all strung out so someone (almost anyone) will "gently tap" the rear corner of a slower car to cause a Caution so the field can bunch up for a final dash to the finish, Duh, now I get it. The amazing thing is how Chase Elliot managed a dash from fourth to first in two laps! At least the NASCAR rules give points for "Laps Led" so it is some racing rather than just a bunched up dash but I guess the fans like the final dash!

Actually Don, He went from 5th to first and never touched Elliot Sadler! Sadler didn't want to come in for tires and had no chance against new tires!

But yes.. in NASCAR, rubbin' is racing!

And it was only his 7th race ever in Nationwide, his first time in Darlington, and he's got 2 wins already! He's a real deal!!!

The last lap is the one that pays the big check......just don't forget the strategy, preparation, car set up and adjustments, driver skill and all the other things it takes to survive the race and be in a position to pull off the win!!!! There's so much more to it then just a final dash......

Sure it takes a lot of preparation and a good crew. It was interesting to see Harvick win the pole and hang on till the end. Of course there are going to be more caution flags after they bunch up on the last restarts but i just hate to see obvious "bumps". Tonight Johnson almost pulled it out on only two fresh tires but Harvick took all four fresh tires and Mr. C has it right above. Fresh tires make a lot of difference!

Harvick OWNED the track last night! Wins the race from the pole and does it under a green white checkers too.

On those final laps even I was cheering for him! LOL...
