Indy 500
I haven’t really followed the Indy 500 for many many years, but this morning I was watching the news and saw a few seconds of footage from the finish of this years race. I got to thinking of the cars that made an impression on me when I really looked forward to the Memorial Day race every year. I figured I’d go ahead and throw up some pictures of my favorite cars.
I still remember the Offenhauser powered cars that dominated thru the 50 and early 60s which I always thought were so beautiful.
and I was blown away with the Lotus that won in 65 (even had a slot car of that one when I was a kid)
And then there was the STP Turbine car that came soooo close to winning in 67…..that caused quite an uproar as I remember.
Anyway I hope everybody’s having a good holiday.
.I've NEVER seen a car come from the factory that couldn't be improved.....
Sorry for your loss of friend Mike McGee, Shine. Great trans men are few and far between, it seems. Sadly, Mike Frade was only 66 and had been talking about retirement for ten years that I know...
