Great Wall Art for da Man Cave !!!!! Noticed some Farrier's tools amongst that stuff also. A friend of mine made a large coffee table with a clear glass top and boxed frame below the glass for his old tools. Great conversation piece too ! Good score, Sto !

King Dick spanners!
I inherited some from a family member many years ago . . . but over following years various employees decided they had more right to them than I did.
sigh.
As spanners they were even better than Crescents for making hexagonal nuts round; but as wall are they would be pretty good today.johnboy

Hey Sto, is that tool with the wooden handle and round ball-type end, actually cup ended like a dipper?

Ah!
That makes sense Charlie.
Richard Seddon, who was known as King Dick, was the Prime Minister here who was responsible for most of the railways being put through our country in the 1800s and early 1900s.
So it seems logical that the gangers would name a spanner, used primarily for railroad work, would name it after him.

Arent garage sales cool? I have quite a collection of simalar tool passed down from my great grandfather. Nice find!
So along the same lines I saw my neighbor getting ready for a yard sale on Friday night. I stop by to say hi and one thing leads to another and for $100.00 and payment for a lien sale I picked up this super clean 2003 Honda CR85. Have some buddies with some young boys that this might fit just perfect. Think I will talk to mom and dad and see if they would like to give it to their kids as soon as the paper work gets straightened out.

What Charlie called a Monkey Wrench is what I always heard them called but every now and then Dad would just call it a pipe wrench - - - don't know for what reason he just did.
Did you get the hand saw also? Can't see the front end of it - - - how long is that beast?
One more question if I may. Are those hog ring pliers I see laying there???Last edited by MelloYello; 06-02-2014 at 04:36 PM.

Those old monkey wrenches were OK for the really old square nuts. My grandfather had a whole collection of antique tools in his shop.Jack
