Road trip to L A R S
The kick-off BBQ for the 4th Annual Great Greybeard Adventure will be this Saturday here @ my place in OK.
Cars from N.C. , Alabama, Kentucky, Florida, Texas, Kansas (Roger Spears) and Oklahoma,( even had 2 rodders from downunder fly to Orlando FL so they could ride across country with us) will all meet here to stuff their faces with BBQ, then Sunday morning it's headed west to the 50th L.A. Roadster Show. Will be meeting many more goin across the U.S. as there are many tours going this year.
The fun begins !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!When I get to where I was goin, I forgot why I went there>

Don, gotta say that I'm still a little apprehensive about heading out on a trip of this distance, having never ventured more than 300 to 400 miles out & back in the past, but with 9,000 miles on the clock it should be OK . I figure that there's safety in numbers, but also know how frustrating it can be for a group to sit & wait for somebody else's problem to get worked out and I don't want to be the source of that kind of frustration.Roger

People who worry get ulcers !
Look @ it as 3 or 4 of your 400 miles trips.
All goin are gearheads and builders (Not zip code gold chainers)
We've had problems in the past and just deal with it.
No big thing to any of us.
See ya SaturdayWhen I get to where I was goin, I forgot why I went there>

So I washed the beast this morning. Still need to wipe down the insides, and vacuum the carpets or they might not let it into CA bringing so much Kansas farm dirt into the state.

I'm so envious of you guys and I'm the type who if lived in the LA region would leave a week or two early to drive out east just to meet up with you all and take part of the trip back to LA. Please all drive safely and have heaps of fun and , as mentioned, please heaps of photo's and commentary of your trip. The light blue '34 Roadster is just so right on all levels of the Hot Rod ladder, it is perfection.
I maybe a little crazy but it stops me going insane.

Roger, don't sweat the drive. You will never find a better bunch of motor heads to ride with. Breakdowns happen and all pitch in, some with help, some with advice, and some with wisecracks. Great Bunch! So hit the go pedal and start the Hot Rod Grin. It is a great ride.

Roger or any of you road warrior's when you get to the LARS if you have time give me a call would love to meet some of you guys.. 530 391-6272 We are headed down Thur the 12th and will be at the So-Cal open house on Friday and then to Waldens later in the day.. LA Roadsters said something about having a Coupe display somewhere on the grounds Sat. so my car may be in that...
And Roger don't worry about breaking down, if you've got that many miles on it she's good to go... and like my friend Phill whetstone always says "if nothing happen's you'll have nothing to talk about"..You don't know what it is to love a car until you build one.
Thank you Roger. .
