antique airplanes? and checking in been awhile

well got myself an old EAA biplane. friend of mine actually gave it to me and is going to start giving lessons so i can get pilots license. pretty sudden thing but i really am into it. the said plane normally comes with a 0200 continental but found out last night if i go experimental i can run a Warner 165 radial.

1494768.jpg this is one all done up with said continental/lycoming style engine. mine will be about like this but with a radial. hoping jerry sees this

The EAA is a very cool old biplane, and even cooler with a radial. Have you figured out what the crank & rods look like in that radial yet?

    that looks like fun!
id be keen to see photos of it now and progress pics. I've always been keen on these sort of things since being flown around our old farming area (galatea) in microlights by friends.

I spent a couple of years working radials in the USN and they are just plain COOL. The Harley's of the skies.

Very cool and congrats to you! Someday I'd love to have an airplane. Maybe when the kiddos are all out of college? I used to go to the EAA show in Wisconsin with my grandfather and we'd meet some of his old buddies that had old war birds. Sadly, most of them have passed on. I hope you have great fun with it!

You should fly in! One of the best small events I have been to. Planes, trains, and automobiles!!! The picture with my 40, I could have sworn that I saw Indiana Jones get out of that plane 10 minutes before.

    Cool poster
