Scooter, you're gonna find that in a West Texas winter there's nothin' between you and the north wind of the Dakota's but a barbed wire fence, and it's down. What's called "west" is really the northwest, tucked right below the panhandle of Oklahoma. Hope that you find it to be all you want, but also hope you're not planning on leaving your heavy coat behind....

Roger's correct about the 3 strand fence that's down but it's not all bad. Some decent huntng around the area and the Night Life used to be pretty decent also. Get ready for a major change of scenery but try and enjoy if ya can.

    To gassersrule_196.

There's nothing wrong working in the oil fields in that area..... Just keep your eyes open at night..... In addition to the high temps, high humidity, frequent lightning storms, we also have a little wind. See picture below.

    Good luck,

From one extreme to the other. Good luck with it! I have an Uncle in the Lake Charles area who runs a plastic processing plant, and another Uncle in the Leander/Austin area who repairs concrete pump trucks. They love it as they were raised in Colorado and Wisconsin and despise winter now. DFW sure has plenty to do and I've spied a lot of old tin laying around. Maybe you will find that next project there!
