Consider this:
A double offset six cylinder radial direct drive engine.
Compressed air start, power cam design ( no connecting rods) computer controlled direct port injection, hydraulic valve actuators.
Engine can operate in two and four stroke, hit and miss ( to charge the air tank ) coast, and brake modes.
Driver is on one side, to counter balance the engine on the other side.
Anyway, there's the concept model..
Education is expensive. Keep that in mind, and you'll never be terribly upset when a project goes awry.

if you like making experimental stuff go for it
but if you really do want a car you can actually drive/cruise in then stick with more common parts and technologyRegards
