Well I need to apologize to you guys too as I had decided I would go to the local Hot Rod show but I just didn't get there but have a good excuse. First though is I did get the camera down out of the wardrobe and remove the battery to charge it up. Secondly I had to fit the new car battery that my garage had ordered in for my BMW and I had picked up on the friday. Well that didn't go well and of course this is waiting between heavy damn cold showers of rain plus a lazy wind that went straight through you instead of around. The Bmmmer had been sitting outside in the weather as where I normally park it in the carport one can't access the side door into the garage plus I have made a clothsline that is on pulleys that you can lower to hang cloths to dry and then pulll up into the space above the car so the car had been left out so I could use that too. Anyway, the battery, according to the battery company they have supplied the correct battery for my car but to fit I would either have to move the left front suspension tower forward by atleast 1 1/2" or cut the bulkhead by the same amount to fit it. So no luck with changing the battery, so I did some measuring and looked on the battery companies web site and worked out what european type of battery will fit so yesterday I was on the phone and ordered to hopefully correct one to be picked up today. Hopefully at no extra cost either as I am absolutely broke now but shit happens as they say and I need the car for getting Mum to the Doctor etc.
Anyway sorry, I didn't get any photo's for you guys but the battery, unlike the car one, for the camera is fully charged.

Have I never put a photo of my Bucket of shit up here before, that car is patiently waiting for me to get out in the garage and work on it but again, funds are bloody tight until I get back working full time for wages instead of being on a care givers benefit for looking after Mum. Here is a photo of the T when it was last on the road .....hopefully.

Mark, nice bucket! Sorry to hear about your battery issue. It's always something. What did you tear the bucket down for?

Thanks Ryan. As you may of noticed, the upholstery is just a couple of peices of foam for the back rest, I was using the original scab which has horrible velour sunken button finish which originally was a gold colour but now is puck green, ( actually won a prize for worst interior on a Rod Run ) and due to the rebuild of the complete car I had torn the old trim out gaining a good 8" of space which I will lose a couple of inches when I have it retrimmed. I have put approximately 300 miles on it as you see here sorting out mainly fuel problems but I then stupidly decided I needed opening doors on the car which sounds so easy to accomplish but has turned into a bit of a major with steeling out the body so that it is solid enough. I also decided while the jig saw was in hand, to cut a couple of inches off the length of the pickup bed and when I did, I made one of the biggest rookie mistakes ever, measure once and then forgot them and then still cut, but, hey, it is fibreglass and can be repaired. The other dumb blonde mistake I've made is measure the left hand side of the car and fabricate the A pillar to mount the hinges and then make the right hand the same thinking it would be right and the same measurements, well, it isn't, so that is where I'm at with the piece of cow turd patiently waiting for me to get over myself and mix the stuff ups. The other disappointing thing that has well and truly been a major put off is all and I mean all the chrome has to be done again but by a company that knows how to do the job properly and it is going to cost mega dollars which I just don't have at the moment.
To be completely honest with you guys, I have felt like walking away from this hobby of ours so many times in the last two years but this site and the family here have helped me stay keen enough not to do anything harsh like sell the rusting piece of chrome and fibreglass out in the garage. Oh well, I have come clean with you Ryan so thanks for your support.

Mark, hang in there. I know how easy it is to get mad at a project and go on to the next. Problem is, then you feel defeated and then more upset. That's my case anyway. As far as the mistakes, it's just a learning curve. I've had my share of bone head cut first measure later oopsies. Each time I learn something new, even it doesn't seem like it. This hobby is more like an addiction to me.

Hey Whip we will have none of that give up talk here... Park it and walk away for awhile, But never quit and believe me I'm qualified to say that!

I've had my hand on quite a few of the fiber glass T's and with a few exceptions they aren't even close on the measurements. I have found that its fairly common the have one side of the body 3, 4, or even 5" wider on one side than the other. Guess all this to say that anything can be fixed with cloth, resin, and desire. And for the record I wish I had a dollar to invest in my car for every mistake I've made... Ya know, the trick isn't not to make mistakes... Its all about having enough confidence in your skills to be able to correct them as if they never happened. I think thats probably the reason I'm not afraid to chop up anything, If I screw up I can fix it! Hang tough my friend and if there is anything I can help just give me a shout out.

I figure lately what ever it is can't end up too much worse than it is otherwise I wouldn't be messing with it. I severly hacked a 39 Chevy frame I had when I was 16. I couldn't stand the sight of it so when I was 18 I baught another frame and did the MII install correctly. It was a learning experience I needed. I had no patience, well, not near as much as I do now. I just got all ina a hurry and then was like, why does this look like ass?
