Hey, Hey , Hey, Another Friday almost got past me!
Man O Man, Its Friday already and I'm just now starting to gain some speed from a week that wasn't. Blazing heat all week long that finally broke yesterday, Mini tornadoes that destroyed the hood. And a ton of distractions made for a very non productive week for me. So guess what I'm doing this weekend? I'm stuffing about 4 days worth of work into 2 days and 2 nights worth of work.
So for us that have to live vicariously through the virtual hot rod world internet what the heck is going on in your Hot Rod Community this weekend? Come on guys I need a window to look out of so post up so picks pleeeeze. And for you guys down under hows your weekend playing out for you so far?Bob, Bob, & Bob

Charlie, if you do decide to do that, then be sure and charge admission and get some advertising out earlyl, OK?
As for me, I may go help my oldest get the PS hoses changed out on his Dodge PU and then just kick cans until Monday..

Heck now Bob x3 you are making me feel guilty. Why you ask !! Well here in our little town we have one of the biggest hot rod clubs with a huge membership who are cellebrating there 50 th Anniversary with functions starting last night at their club rooms and a two day indoor show today and tomorrow,( our Sat. and Sun. ) which I had decided I wouldn't bother going too as I am familiar with most of their cars BUT now, I realise that is being selfish as you guys would be interested in seeing what we are up to in building our cars, apart from the steering wheel on the wrong side. So I just may have to blow the cobwebs from the camera and get my arse up the road and take heaps of photo's for you guys aye..
I maybe a little crazy but it stops me going insane.

We have a wintery sort of day today but then it is also our general election day for picking some either new clowns or stay with the same bullshit to run our little country today and the weather is never good for that. The deep south are expecting snow down low but up here we have a cold wind with heavy showers of rain coming through, just a normal spring day really.I maybe a little crazy but it stops me going insane.

Tomorrow I need to try to get 2 gates put up at my parent's place, change an alternator on a dodge, and try to get my front axle back under my F350. Then in the afternoon go to my friend's wedding. Sunday we're taking the kids to a pumpkin patch/corn maze and my wife doesn't know it yet, but I need to go work in the shop some in the afternoon.
I'll take some pics of the kids and post them hopefully Monday.Ryan

To be honest I quit going to local shows years ago... How many times can you look at the same cars, listen to the same stories and still keep it kinda of interesting. Its really hard when you have had your hands on most of the cars then ya hear what the stories have evolved into! Oh and don't even get me started on the back biting politics for a trophy thing. Worse than school kids! So seeing some fresh rides is always a treat... I will look at them through a mirror reflection, that way I wont be bugged by the screwed up steering wheel location. Thanks Whip for your sacrifice for the good of the less fortunate.Last edited by M.T.; 09-19-2014 at 05:49 PM.

The Ol' Marais (Old Mare) River Run car show is down in Ottawa, KS this weekend. The last couple of years they've been bumping up to 2000 cars & trucks on Saturday, in an old city park with massive trees and a nice loop roadway near the Marais De Cygne River. This is the one that jb & Rosie came to last summer, and it was an enjoyable time for them. Hoping the Saturday PM rains stay away....Roger
Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.

Yep.
'Information overload' would best describe it.
Just too much to take in properly; still look at the photos and think: "I don't remember seeing that!"
From 8 second (and less,) strip cars to a BMW Isetta. (0 to 60 mph in three days...)
And everything in between.
There was just too much for this mountain man to drool over.
Loved it.
Have fun mate!
And today (Saturday,) we went to an NSRA meeting regarding or upcoming Nationals.
Only four or five weeks away now . . . I'm still hoping, and although the bus will be mobile and legal, I don't think it's gonna be finished in time.
Bit of a bugger but.Last edited by johnboy; 09-19-2014 at 10:35 PM.

I failed to get pics with the kiddos at the apple orchard we went to. They did have a blast though. I even managed to work on the 40 some this weekend, fixed my DD, and did more drive way work.Ryan
