Wahoooo! Royals!!
WOW! What a roller coaster wild card game! Broke a 29 year streak of no post season play, and now in the playoffs for the series! Congrats to the Royals, a scrappy, athletic, running bunch of youngsters. What a game!Roger

Yeah, this post season schedule is sooooo much different than it was when we were kids and they simply ended with the AL/NL best teams going into the WS - generally someone against the Yankees! Now we have not only division playoffs, but east & west to get there! As you say, one step closer, still in the hunt. Gotta say again I would never have predicted the sweep of the Angels after the season they had! Just goes to show it's just as much about the peak as the talent. The Royals seem to be peaking at just the right time, and maybe the Angels peaked to win their division and then lost some steam. Hoping that the Royals can keep it up for a few more weeks, and enjoy the ride!Roger

Glad they are in the hunt... Its nice to see different teams in the post season. Now if the Padres could dethrone the Dodgers next year I would know exactly how you are feeling today. Oh to dream! With no post season play here in S.D. everyone is focusing on the Chargers now... always a distraction of some sort!Bob, Bob, & Bob

Nope... not cool at all! We need to be fair here and have one west coast team in the series. I'm thinking Royals and S.F. might be good match for the series. FOR THAT MATTER ANYBODY BUT THE DODGERS! Them and the Yankees are nothing but money ball.Bob, Bob, & Bob

The Orioles ain't no joke either. If Royals can get by them which won't be easy. It should be interesting.
I live in Ocean City, Md. and should be an O's fan but am not. I have been a Padres,Chargers fan since I was a kid starting in 1979 and living out West. Good luck to all. Glad to see differeent teams in playoffs also.It is our wits that make us men!!!!

Yeah M.T., back in '85 the rest of the country was kinda bored with two almost "local" teams playing, gotta admit. And slincoln 3, the Orioles sweeping Detroit in three says a lot about them, too. As you say, should be interesting to say the least. I'm really liking the way the Royals are playing their strengths and leveraging their speed to play good, old fashioned ball - advance the runner, base hit scores from second, and steal, steal, steal! Exciting as long as it works!!Roger
