Its Lobster time again...
I've been busting my hump at work and need a change of scenery. Tonight I'm going Lobster hooping for the first time this season. The plan is to get out of here around 4:00 this after noon and get set up on our favorite spot before everyone else gets off work. It's another blazing day here so a night on the pond will be a welcomed relief. With any luck I will be able to post up the pic's of our success tomorrow.Bob, Bob, & Bob

Yeah, but the Pacific spiny varieties don't have the big claws, right? Only the "American Lobster" found in the Atlantic have the monster claws that are so desirable, unless I have it wrong.Roger
Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.

Down here we have to settle for mini-lobsters that we lovingly call "mud bugs" (aka crawfish) which also have juicy tails AND spicy fat in their heads. M.T. how big are those Pacific Lobsters???.

It was a beautiful night on San Diego Bay last night! Shorts and short sleeve weather and just after sun set the water was like glass! Good friends and pizza along with a little exercise and it all worked out OK. Notice I dint mention the catch we brought home... I pulled up Sting rays, Morie Eel's, Crabs, and probably 30 short lobsters. We got one nice size California Spiny Crawdad and that was it. The pics with several on the ground and the big one are from our last night of hooping last year. The body of the lobster has to measure 4" in length or longer to be a keeper...Last edited by M.T.; 10-03-2014 at 02:54 PM.

No biggie to throw them back in where they belong. It will give me something else to look at in a few weeks when I catch him for the second time. LOL Can you imagine getting pulled out of your environment in the dark into a net with a bright light in your face. Id be pissed off as well. Heads belong on bodies unless they are food. You wouldn't eat one of those things would you?Bob, Bob, & Bob
