The rice rockets are very quick for what they are. They have been getting high ponies out of 4 bangers for years and they are fun to drive. They remind me a lot of the Go Karts I used to race when I was a kid with the twin Mac 91A's pushing your butt at 70MPH around the track. But the thing that is lost in all of this is there is no STYLE, No CLASS... They are all Void of Uniqueness. They are all so much the same I don't even try to figure out which brand is which anymore. If I can see the big ass plastic logo on the thing I will remember what it is until I see the next shapeless one drive by. Then its back to wondering what I saw? Guess in this society of followers that uniqueness is an negative and not something to be strived for? The rebels of today can tinker with the computer and re tune it, play with a turbo, bypass the EPA, and wrap it in a new plastic paint scheme...Wa La... A HOTROD! Hell if my Model A didn't have a frame, Was 60% plastic and what metal is there was 1/4 the thickness with holes drilled through it, not to speak of loosing the weight of a rear end and drive line I might go a tad bit faster as well. But who really gives a rats ass? I will choose tradition, style, and v8 power anytime! I can drive my real cars through town and the next day I will have a dozen people say they saw me in town yesterday. Get silly in the CRX and not a peep I just blend in the crowd. I don't really care... I just thought this was such a silly topic Id chime in on this one and keep the delusional happy by playing the over talked comparison game one more time. Have fun with this on boysLast edited by M.T.; 10-11-2014 at 10:41 AM.

We have the same stuff down here,too.. Fart can exhausts,etc.. Blow off valves, hair dryers,et al.. We call them sneezing jappas.. Yes,they are quick,,but some, not as quick as they think.. we have an annual meeting,at one of the dragstrips,,which is commonly called ''Hamburger v Rice''The first two years,,the wiley old hotrodders won,,cos the jappa kids didn't know a great deal about quick reaction times.. The third year, they got the drop on the old guys,,but since then,,it's been a hard road for them.. They get some wins,,but even with good pairing between the two factions,,we still get them mostly..Micah 6:8

Guess I don't have a problem with the ricer crowd.... They like cars that go fast and can't leave a factory build alone!!!! Just Hot Rodders that have chosen a different avenue to pursue!!!!
However, if I want to talk about ricer cars, I'd probably do it on a ricer forum.......JMOYesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Oh i don't have an issue either... In fact I have had a couple quick ones in my days, but in no way do I ever think of them as hot rods. Just me... I cant imagine talking Model A on a tuner forum either. Can you even imagine starting thread like this on tuner forum titled... WARNING! LOLOLOLOLOLOLBob, Bob, & Bob

You are all correct. Thanks imports bad old hot rods good. Got it!!! Didn't mean to stir anything up. Just like you said how fast you want to go depemds on how much money your willing to spend,iI guess. Just a little surprising that's all. Like I always tell my son when he sees a car he'll say dad is that fast? I always say it could be? Then he'll say can you beat it in your old cars (cuz he's knows those are the fast ones);. I say maybe and if we are in one of the old ones at the time we find out right then but its not usally an import.
Just like every kid he thinks nobodys car is faster than his dads. Or nobody can whip his dads ass. Hmmmmmmm. Wow kids are smart!!!!! LolLast edited by slincoln 3; 10-11-2014 at 04:32 PM.

I thought I was just relaying an experience I had to a group of men that could understand my dismay . I see posts on here about Uncle Pete is sick. Kids heading off to college . Mom flying in. Daughter is getting married. You see my point. It won't happen again..
I was not promoting. imports. I don't like them either.Last edited by slincoln 3; 10-11-2014 at 04:48 PM.

I think the title of "Warning" kinda set the tone for the responses. I wouldn't get all sensitive about it... After all we are rodder's at heart here and not tuners, most of us aren't from the touchy feeley lost generation. No biggie it just comes across weird without the body language. After all, could anyone really like the tuner craze? Come on get real. I mean one of my brothers Bob #2 likes mopeds and Bob 3 likes Harley's... hum maybe that's the reason they don't speak to each other anymore? Anyway you get the point. Were all family... Next beer is on me.Last edited by M.T.; 10-11-2014 at 04:48 PM.

Tuner's aren't the only one's running 4 cylinder engines that turn a lot of RPM----check out your local USAC dirt track and you'll see some high horse 4 poppers powering some very fast midgets!!!! Midgets have been racing 4 cylinder engines since the day they first started racing!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!
