Rotator cuff surgery
Am into my 3rd week recuperating from rotator cuff surgery. Was surprised to run into so many others that had it done. It's also my right shoulder and I am right handed. It sucks trying to do stuff left handed when you are used to doing it without thinking.
Want to go out and play in the shop, but once out there I just sit and listen to the radio. Am going to PT 3X a week and hope to be better by the new year.

I have had several friends that have had it done and ALL of them tell me the Rehab is the most painful thing they have ever done. I myself have shoulder problems and have for a long time but no surgery as of yet. About 15 years ago I started doing exercises with 3# hand weights to strengthen the shoulder muscles and it has helped tremendously. I do about 10 reps once or twice a day of two exercises and it seems to keep the muscle around the rotator cuff able to hold things in place and remove the undue pressure on the sensitive area. These exercises are simple arm at side then extend out and up to the side and then to the front about 20 per setting. Of course with 3# weight in each hand.
Hope your recovery goes well and I didn't mean to hi-jack your thread, only to offer a possible alternative to anyone that might want to try it.

Do ALL of the rehab and don't start doing work earlier than your doctor recommends! Take it from a stubborn guy who thought he knew better. Good luck with your healing.Superman wears Chuck Norris pajamas
