Heaven Called, Mom Answered
It's been a lil over a week now. Issues started about 2 weeks ago.
Mom had a massive cerebral hemorrhage. From onset to surgery was about 45mins to an hour. We got the call as she was being transported. My Bride instantly got on the phone & got me tix to fly first available flight.
Straight from Airport to Hospital!! All 4 of us kids were there, 2 of 6 Grand children, 2 of 5 Great Grand.
Next day we go- Nurse says " She can hear you, so go ahead and talk to her. We got some responses this morning- She gave us thumbs up, raised her right hand a tad, gave us a bit of a wave. She was responding to Dr.s voice."
So, we talked. We cried. We Prayed. We softly sang some Hymns.
I held her hand and talked. I asked if she knew it was me, she squeezed my hand twice! Our 2 daughters came in right off the road. She squeezed each of their hands.
This went on for a few days. One day her eyes started to flutter open just a tiny bit!! Praise The LORD, She will pull through!!
Well, one by one, our LOA times were running out. I got home on a Tuesday.
On the following Saturday, at 4:25PM, My older brother texted us VIA Mass Message--
Mom is in Glory
That Wednesday, Her Life was celebrated -- Tears of sorrow, tears of Joy, Laughter, Giggles, and Sighs.
The Sunday this started --
Mom, Dad, little brother go to Church as usual. Choir sings
" Holy Ground "
Mom stands up, lifts her hands.
After service they have a gathering at the Altar, to meet and greet Elders, Decons, Pastor, etc.
Dad said she wanted to go " Hug All Their Necks ". She did.
Ok, here is a small twist--
Mom has been wheel-chair reliant for close to 7yrs!!
I, for 1, believe Heaven called, Mom answered, and The Lord waited for all of the Brood to gather before He led her Home.
Mom had always liked Hot Rods. She would always get me shirts with some type of hot rod on it, and tell me what she liked about it. She would love the car shows. The sparkle in her eyes when we would talk about my old truck.
I cry because I miss Her, I laugh because I remember Her.

A little sign hangs in our hallway, "When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure." Hoping that the many memories of good times overrun your mind in the coming days. God Bless....Roger
Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.

I am sorry for your loss; I shed some tears myself when I read your post. I like what Roger said - a nice sentiment.Rrumbler, Aka: Hey you, "Old School", Hairy, and other unsavory monickers.
Twistin' and bangin' on stuff for about sixty or so years; beat up and busted, but not entirely dead - yet.

Good one - of many -
1987, just installed a ballanced // blueprinted tunnel rammed +.030 Chevy small block in my '54 Chevy 5 window deluxe cab step side.
Electric fuel pump feeding the carbs, Dad made sure dizzy was right.
Mom sticks her head through the garage door to see how things are going, Dad says we'll be
" putin' the juice to 'er in just a minute "
She said " I can hardly wait "
I bump the switch for a couple seconds, Dad verifies fuel flow.
Then I hold the switch to start button.....
POW...ROAR...RUMBLE...Ruuummpp..Thuuummpp...
Over open headers, we hear Mom yell " Man o man that sounds good "
The roast that Sunday for some reason was great!!
Thank You Sincerly For Your Kind Thoughts And Words!!
Yes, the Treasured Memories are Priceless!!
I am Thankful for this CHR Family!

Sorry for the loss of your mother. It sounds like she was a fighter and great mom too! That's really great you and your family were able to interact with her before she left. Like already mentioned, embrace those memories and now share them with your kin to keep the good ones rolling.Ryan

Very sorry for your loss. Having just went through a scare with my own mother, I know where you're coming from. I know my time with her is limited and try to see her every chance I get.

Your strong Faith and Love of God has to have your Mom smiling down on the Son she raised. Keep the Faith and the Memories wrapped around that Void and Peace will prevail. May God Bless and Comfort you, meller
Thank you Roger. .
