It's Thursday... The Pre game show for Friday and this weekend...
Being I wont be around much this weekend I thought a good positive launch into the Friday thread might be needed a bit early. I have a funeral attend to tomorrow and I'm sure I will do something with the family afterwords. Saturday I have a guy that wants to do some barter work for a VW Thing so I'm going to go see what that is all about. Sunday I'm going to visit the dude I'm going to be spending eternity with and make sure he is in a good mood. Then in the afternoon start a roll cage in a very serious off road VW bug for Mr. Customer.
Watchya guys up to?Last edited by M.T.; 10-30-2014 at 01:35 PM.

Hopefully I won't have to go to the salt mine again this weekend! I hate being "on-call"!
Then I may just get the coupes intake swapped back to a single 4 and the fancy MSD dizzy... I can't believe I only had the car out once all summer!
Then there are 4 or 5 other things that need my attention... we'll see what gets done.. oh, isn't the procrastinators meet this weekend too?

I'm going back to play farmer tomorrow. I won't be taking my daughter now....... My MIL called my wife last night in a franic and said she had night mares the last 4 nights that something bad was going to happen to our daughter this weekend involving a tractor and the death of her. Well, that was the end of her going. Weird deal. Anyway, Sunday I have to try to weld some cracks on the MIL's Kia's K member, then who knows what. Today I mowed the pastures at my parent's house maybe for the last time this season. I might remove the belly mower and put the 3pt from my dad's old H on my Super H and then get a round bale stabber for it. The Super H may tear the ground up less than our skid loader this winter moving round bales. Plus we have a pretty heavy 3pt blade that may come in handy. This morning it was 28* and I turned the gas and ignition on, and that old SH fired up after I touched the starter lever. I couldn't believe that. Before I left I tried my A John Deere and it took a bit more but did start. It has a Power Block an a little more compression than a stock one, and it definitely does not like cold weather.Ryan

Cool weather had me feeling frisky this morning so I cranked up my 1980 Stihl Farm Boss Chainsaw and did some Red Green pruning on the fig and pear tree that were too close to the driveway and was scratching the vehicles. Then after lunch I continued being stupid and frisky and pruned the horrible redtips in front of the house with a pair of hand pruners. Don't know if I kilt'em or not but I really don't care cause I'm not a fan. Gota get ready for the Goblins in a little while and then it's gonna be a Vicodin lala nighty night tonight.

Gave away six pounds of candy to the local "costumed" minions tonight. All in all, they were a very circumspect bunch, not a bad evening. Aet myself up in the driveway in front of the garage, hung a couple of electric punkins from the eaves, and enjoyed the balmy evening with the neighborhood kiddos. One little "Tinker Bell knockoff" won me over, and got a quad dole of the chewy stuff for her efforts. She was about 30 inches tall, and costumed to the nines. She was with a group of older kids and just sort of vanished in among them, so I didn't really notice her until they all got their gelt and sort of melted away into the dusk, and there she was. She smiled at me, and said: "Nice beard." in a very mature fashion for one her apparent age; I couldn't help myself, gave her a whole handfull of "the good stuff" - Twix, Milky Ways, Snickers - the other kids got the regular fare, Milk Duds, Whoppers.
The rest of the weekend? Who knows?Rrumbler, Aka: Hey you, "Old School", Hairy, and other unsavory monickers.
Twistin' and bangin' on stuff for about sixty or so years; beat up and busted, but not entirely dead - yet.

So last night was an impromptu young gun night at the shop. I think they just wanted to keep me occupied and be away from their front doors on Halloween night. We all were enjoying our usual verbal bantering about motorcycles and the new On Any Sunday movie. I looked up to see a little gal about 11 or 12 all dressed up like a lady bug making here way through our closed gate. Standing next to her was a guy who looked to be my height right around 6". He had a white shirt on that looked like it went through the chain saw massacre episode. I was quick to tell them that I didn't have any candy for Halloween. They didn't want to hear it and kept walking towards me. I notices the bloody guy had a a black assault blade opened and locked in his hand. First thing I thought was Halloween prop knife. This guy got right in my face and said "Sir, do you know how to make the blade on this knife go back in the handle? Sure son... By this time Mark who was here and a Navy Seal by trade stepped right up and the cross examination started. This kid left knowing everything about this knife, make , model, where it ws made even who designed the original style! He then went on to tell the kid how to maintain it! What a riot. This kid was huge for his age and once he got up close enough to us to see him I don't think he could of been any older than his little girl friend. Oh and the knife was very real, very sharp, and very illegal. I thought the funnest thing about the whole episode was how Mark calmly wiped the knife all down making the kid pluck it out of the rag when giving it back to him! I'm told it is a instinctive reaction. No Finger Prints left anywhere! Why in the world they were in an industrial part of town is anyone's guess? My Halloween story for Friday night the 31'st of October 2014.Last edited by M.T.; 11-01-2014 at 01:19 PM.

Halloween or not, I can be a tad to the jumpy side.
If I had Michael Myers walking towards me with a stiletto in his hand, my 9mm would have probably found its way to my hand..
Education is expensive. Keep that in mind, and you'll never be terribly upset when a project goes awry.

On the way home from work last night, it was around 7pm, there was a combine 1/2 in the road, 1/2 in the ditch --
right side rear wheel assembly was at a 45* angle to the road, the left side rear wheel assembly was looking like it wanted to turn left!
There was a repair rig there. I feel bad for the guy -- I know that is Nothing like replacing a break hub money wise, time wise, or frustration wise!!
No threadjack intended...Just odd coincidence...
