Leno Returning To TV Car Show – Car Pro News 21 Oct
Jay Leno is returning to nightly television.
The former “Tonight Show” host’s new prime-time venture, tentatively
titled, “Jay Leno’s Garage,” and based on his Emmy Award-winning Web
series, will premiere on CNBC in 2015, the network announced. The precise
debut date and frequency of airing are yet to be determined, the network
said.
The hour-long show will be a forum for Leno to share his passion for “all
things automotive,” the network said, “including best investments,
valuations and the inner workings of the car collector’s market.”
Leno commented, “This show will be about anything that rolls, explodes and
makes noise. We hope to highlight the passion and the stories behind the
men and women who made the automobile the greatest invention of the 20th
century.”
“Jay will add tremendous star power and exceptional content to CNBC’s prime
time at the perfect time,” said network President Mark Hoffman. “We’re
really excited Jay will continue his storied career with the NBC family and
with us at CNBC.”
The 64-year-old Leno, well-known for his interest in cars and his vast car
collection, hosted a one-hour special for CNBC in August. “Jay Leno’s
Garage: The Ultimate Car Week” marked his first return to hosting since he
vacated NBC’s “The Tonight Show” last February.Bob, Bob, & Bob

I love Jay's humor. I like his enthusiasm for motor vehicles. He may need a little help, though. CNBC's ratings just dropped to a 21 year low. Maybe all 10 of CNBC's viewers will show up . . .Jack

So would I. One thing that I hope Jay would change someday is allowing tours of his garage. When my brother graduated from boot camp I tried getting an appoitment to take him there and it was no such luck. Maybe that has changed now??Ryan

I am glad to hear he is coming back; late evening TV has not been the same since he "retired". I have seen some of his videos on his cars and his shop: nice stuff, and very well done. I think he might have a good thing going with this; I will watch for certain.Rrumbler, Aka: Hey you, "Old School", Hairy, and other unsavory monickers.

I happened to catch his show while surfing channels a few days ago... I'd give it 2.5 out of 5 stars, It might be me though? I'm finding the garbage on TV to be so fake and glib that I really don't watch much more than sports and the history channel, and who knows how accurate that is. These bike and hot rod build shows are the same format. Find the car, have a un realistic time frame to build it in, Go off on each other while building it, Parts are always last minute, and no matter what goes out the door its worth millions! LOL
Jays show is a bit different and will reserve my opinion until I see a few more of his shows.Bob, Bob, & Bob

Nope, it's still hard as ever to get the tour. A buddy of mine got to go there a few months ago, but he knows people who "know" people......he was going to invite me to go along but that didn't work out. I have it recorded, but haven't watched it yet. Generally though, I am a real fan of Mr. Leno, so my perception might be skewed a bit, but I have always enjoyed his previous works about his collection and his garages. It probably would have to be pretty bad to get a thumbs down from me.Rrumbler, Aka: Hey you, "Old School", Hairy, and other unsavory monickers.
