The Road was a hard life.
I was just listening to some old music that reminded me of my many years driving Big Rigs over the road going from coast to coast. Back in them days when you pulled in a truck stop, most had attendants that would fuel you up and check the oil. And if you got more then 250 gallons of fuel and a gallon of Rotella oil they would give you a Country music tape with mixed Artist on it. Them tapes kept me awake many a night trying to make a window call or dock call. I must have a couple hundred of them old tapes in box's now but there is some great music on the tapes. I was always more then happy to get some of Ronnie Milsap, Tanya Tucker, Hank Williams, Terri Gibbs, TJ. Sheppard, the Marshal Tucker band.
The Road is a hard life, it's good money but hard on your health staying up for days at a time. When you drive local it's almost as hard. My kids seen me come home get 2 or 3 hours of sleep and get right back in a truck, 6 or 7 days a week most the time. Hard on the family too.
This old song reminded my of some lonely days on the road. Give them truckers some room out there on the roads.

Shine you just took the words out of my mouth - - - - - I wasn't a trucker but I used to drive from Houston to Denver straight thru on many occasions and I can't imagine what it would have been like without WBAPs Bill Mack's "all night open road show". Let's not forget that thermos of "joe" at those Truck Stops that you could see shining on the horizon 30 minutes before you got there.
Vara, you long haulers were dang good company during those long dark and sometimes two lane nights along with Mr. Mack. Also, Vara, the link seems to not be working.

Merry Christmas ya'll
