Project Cars HWY 167 to 65
I take Hwy 167 to 65 - Louisiana through Arkansas to Ozark Missouri often. There are always lots of project cars for sale on HWY 65. This time on 167 there was a 67 GTO convertible that looked like it just needed a good buffing...At one time there was a hot-rod junkyard on 65 in Arkansas as well. Looks like it was cleaned out.
The best junkyarding and backyard hunting time (for me) was in South Carolina. I was stationed in Sumter. I had a 73 Duster, 73 Nova and the 69 Charger. My friend had a 68, 70 and 72 Chevelle. At one yard we'd give the old guy at the gate some of our clean vodka. We'd pure it into a jar he had; looked like gasoline. He'd smell it; drink some; and just smile, then say, "Dem dare cars you knows where day at."The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it, ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is.
