    Weather and such....time for gripes!

As I get on in years I really seem to be effected by seasonal weather changes. Last year it was so dry the yard started to die in some areas like the lawn, the official month of December however has more than made up for that. Locally we get about 20" of rain a year(July-June). For December alone we have gotten 12.71 inches, and year to date we have 17.8".
I should clarify that here our seasons are very slight(compared to the rest of the country), in that in Winter we get a week or 2 of freezing weather(temps mostly 40-60), spring, sunny days mixed with rainy days(temps 55-75), summer a few days over 100 degrees, but most 70-80, and fall the darkness of daylight savings time mixed in with the beginning of the rainy season(temps of 40-60).
Yet even with these slight variances 20 plus days of non stop rain starts wearing on you. And my dogs I guess as they look very depressed too!
I am grateful for every drop as we have been experiencing a bit of a drought for a few years, but yet I guess it's just human nature to always complain. How you guys in Seattle area deal with the tons of rain you get, or those in the central and mountain states deal with the snow and cold, Alaskans with no light, East coasters with the Massive storm fronts, leaving feet of snow, flooding rains, and freezing winters mixed in with humid summers, I can only guess that this would be but a trivial laugh, yet I must say it, "I'm officially Sick Of RAIN! there I feel better!
Please chime in with your weather gripes!

The month of November for us was unusually cold and we actually got snow like I remembered as a kid. My only gripe is, i wish it would just stay cold until spring. The )* back up to dang near 60* and back down is getting old. I'll take the warm weather, but it makes it a PITA to get things done, etc.

    Crikey!
We get six or seven feet of rain per year, whether we want it or not!
    Seventy to eighty + inches!
But that's what ensures grass growth all year round, and when we're growing grass we can feed our cows, and they can produce milk and meat, and that's how we made a living and paid the bills.

The official designation for the bush* I cleared is: 'Tropical Rain Forest', and there were some extremely large trees in there!
Seven or eight feet through at the butt.
And why is it called 'rain forest'?
    Because we get rain!
There's a cliché locally: "If you can see the mountain it's going to rain; if you can't see it it's already raining!"

    * 'Bush' is a colloquial generic term meaning any large stand of indigenous trees...I think you call them 'woods' or 'forest' or 'copse'...

Yep Bob, my brother hated the weather the first few years up in Steilacoom, now he loves the area.
