    Error Message on Home Page

When I try to go to the clubhotrod.com main page, or click on the Home tab or the Club HOTROD logo in the upper left corner I get this message:

    ********************
Stu Cool, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.
    ********************
Is anyone else having this problem? I am logged in, I can read and post messages.

I have sent an email to brent@clubhotrod.com but it came back undeliverable.

    Thanks for any help

    Pat
Of course, that's just my opinion, I could be wrong!

I get that message occasionally and I ignore and click on today's posts. I think Brent is still having software problems and he is hard to get hold of, try PMing Mr Mustang instead

Stu, I get that message occasionally, but I'll back out and take another run and it generally works. You might try clearing out your cache on your computer, then logging out, reboot the machine and log back in again? Not sure what's with Brent's e-mail - that's the address I have for him too.

Yeah Pat, this has been with us for a long time, though some report they never get it. I get it anytime I do as you did, perhaps that means there's something to do with long time member accounts. Clearing cache, refreshing browser, hell, even changing browsers, or any of a dozen or so other "remedies", makes no difference.....it persists. Those that are determined such as yourself will click past it and find the site useable for the most part. However, many are confused or peeved by such annoyances and thus we end up with a site that shrinks rather than grows. Benign neglect has a cost, but for some of us "lifers" it's a comfortable while small "home".

EDIT: perhaps as a note of irony, as I attempted to upload the original version of this posting I got a long upload churn and then an error message. Also a far too common occurrence.......

I get it when I click the forum tab. If I click it a second time I get onto that page no trouble.

I very seldom log out, but just leave a tab active with CHR and then hit "Today's Posts". The only time I go over to the "Home" or "Forum's" tabs is if I want to start a new thread. Just the way that I've become accustomed to, day to day.

Sorry for not answering the PM's from this past week sooner guys, I buried my father this past Sunday after a 7 week illness. 8 flights in 7 days wiped me out and I'm just getting back online now.

As for the issue at hand, are you not being taken here:

    Club Hot Rod Main Page

when you click on the "Home" tab?

Or is there an issue with something else taking you (or not taking you) elsewhere?

Ditto for me too. Bill also I am sorry for your loss. Hard to find words that are appropriate or helpful in times like this.

Bill, so sorry to hear of your loss!

I get the same thing as the rest of the guys. I just hit the forum tab and go on.

Works for me, the "Home" tab and the link in Bill's post result in the same screen.

Bill, so sorry for your loss, and know some of the struggles you've been going through with a father determined to remain in control, even when his decisions are not in his best interest. I'm hoping that as time passes your memories will be of the more pleasant times, and the others will fade. It's been five years for me, and the "others" are finally fading.... Praying for God's compassion on your family at this time.

Hmmm...I have never witnessed this myself...I thought at first that maybe some user setting is messed up depending on the group you're in, but it looks like folks from various groups are affected.

One of you that experience it regularly, can you delete your cookie for CHR and log back in and see if the problem still persists?

Also what browsers are you using? Shouldn't matter, but maybe there's a correlation.
