Gettin' rid of bugs on paint

I thought I would pass on one of the best tips I have ever found out, getting rid of baked on bugs (or fresh) on your rides paint job, mix 1/2 water with 1/2 hydrogen peroxide (just cheap ol' dollar general brand) & fill a squirt bottle and squirt away, it won't hurt paint, won't remove the wax but the peroxide breaks down the protein of the bugs and they wipe off very easily!
After finding this tip out we went out in August to a very large parking lot and went to the car with the most baked on bugs, squirted them and they wiped off easily with no scrubbing, since we have never followed through with our idea of marketing the product I pass it along, enjoy (no warranty claimed) Matthyj

That sounds like a good trick there mate.
BUT...I would add: wear gloves and eye protection if you're using hydrogen peroxide ( H2O2 ) in concentrations greater than 12%.
It can be an extreme irritant.

    Great tip!
Does this work on windshields too, without streaks?

No, I believe it leaves streaks on windshields and the concentration available at the local store is less than 2% I believe, and pretty safe compared to the catalyst variety. Best of luck

I keep a quart of hydrogen peroxide on hand as a skunk spray remedy ingredient, and it's "3% stabalized", pretty benign in the OTC form here in the US.

    Cool.
At dilutions like that it should be pretty safe.
