2015 Salute to American Graffiti
Some pics from our local car show this year using my new Nikon D5200 and Tamaron
18-270mm lens. I think in the poor mid day light conditions they came out well using Polarizing filter alone. I stuck to photographing big engines, and classic muscle this year. I've got a bunch of pics of mustangs including a original 1968 California special. If anyone's interested Ill post those too.

Looks like another nice turn out. Can you give any specifics on the maroon convertible in the first group, first frame?Roger
Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.

Roger,
According to my detective skills, it's a 1953 Kaiser. Beautiful car!
(No, I'm good with obscure car identification, but not that good. I uploaded Steve's original photo, viewed the image at 100%, and was able to make out the info sheet on the windshield. The make was easy to read, but the year was not - although the license plate was a pretty good hint.)Last edited by Henry Rifle; 05-17-2015 at 04:56 PM.

Oops' I just scrolled up and saw the pics, looks like it may be a 53 but I don't remember there being a convertible in 53! maybe custom?Last edited by ronaldkirkemo; 05-17-2015 at 11:50 PM. Reason: just noticed when I scrolled up there were photos!

It is a 1953. I identified by comparing photos of Kaisers from 48-54 and deciphering the window sticker. The 53 is the only one with that grille configuration combined with that hood ornament. It must be custom. I don't believe Kaiser ever made a convertible except for the 1954 Darrin Series 161 Sport. I took a closer look, and there is wood trim on top of the doors and at the top of the body all around the back seat. If there's a convertible top, I can't make it out.
I would really like to see a set of photos of that car.Last edited by Henry Rifle; 05-18-2015 at 10:29 AM.

Jack, I think you've got a typo there, you probably mean 1954 Darrin rather than 84.
I too hope Steve has some other angles of that Kaiser, it's interesting...Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon

Sorry guys I only took these two shots of the Kaiser, and a few of a similar hardtop with cool grill. Here are those and the Mustangs, since I was feeling nostalgic and lamented the first car I ever owned a 1968 Mustang!. Usually I take a ton of pictures but between the amount of people constantly walking in front of my shots, and my time limitations I didn't take very many photos this year.
