New style Water pump riser. Would you buy it?

I was having an issue with my SBC water pump sitting too low and wanted to raise it up a bit. It sat so low the fan was going to end up cooling my front cross member. Of course the easy way out would be to just put an electric fan and shroud on and be done with it. On a "somewhat" traditional car I thought the electric fan would be outta place besides I like a nice mechanical fan. Less things to go wrong and no wiring of relays and things. I looked into the zips riser and it put the fan too high. While doing some research I found Street Dreams by Ross LLC. They make a water pump relocation kit. His kit as it comes now brings the pump up almost 2" and forward 1.750". The nice thing is you use your existing water pump no need to go out and buy another pump. It's also more compact and I think it just plain looks less noticeable than the zips riser. I think this could be a viable less expensive alternative to other designs that might not fit their application. Besides it's nice to have options. What do you all think?

Looks OK, but I can't afford the 1.75" farther forward.... I'll be making a fiberglass shroud for mine.

What are the cost factors? The Zip vs the Ross unit.

Isn't this on a hot rod? Besides, the OEM pump still bolts to these brackets. So as long as the risers don't corrode in half he should be good to go.

Jim, it looks like a nise riser set up to me. But I couldn't spare the forward room either.

??? I honestly don't know where you were headed with this analogy. Care to expand upon it? (Not busting ass I'm serious)

Thanks Ryan. I do realize that not a lot of people can move things forward but it's nice to have the option if you do have the room. I have nothing against the zips and snow white risers and would have used one if it didn't interfere with my oil fill tube.

Truth be told this was originally designed to fit a SBC into a Fiero and I thought he was missing out a whole other market so I asked him to send me one to see if it would work for me. In return I told him I would figure out the pulley configuration and spread the word to see if there was any interest in an alternative market like hot rods. He did his part and sent me one so here I am spreading the word. For reasons mentions earlier in the thread (filler tube and fan clearance) this may be something someone wants and it is less expensive too.

Thanks for passing a solution on, always good to have more options.

So to explain----------engine is so low that you need to put runners under the pan rails to protect oil pan---------crank pulley is now so low that got to use smaller diameter
accessories(alternator) is so low interfers with steering so so midget alter mounted more forward on 2 bolts on bracket that will bend/lean/warp? because its not strong enough to keep belt tension to pull waterpump and a fan plus a 90 amp alternator-use a trople groove pulley for belt alighnment but only use forward most groove?

If this deal used one of the slotted mount pumps (nascar) from a few years ago, the belt tension could be set by adjusting height of the pump to tighten belt and alternator could be driven from belt just between h2o pump and alter.

accessories(alternator) is so low interfers with steering so so midget Also wrong: over an inch to spare all the way around alter mounted more forward on 2 bolts on bracket that will bend/lean/warp? Not an engineer but hoping your wrong here too but if not I will redesign it so you could pull the engine with that bracket (problem solved) because its not strong enough to keep belt tension to pull waterpump and a fan plus a 90 amp 40 amp kabota but I will cut you some slack there cant really tell amps by just looking at it alternator-use a trople groove pulley for belt alighnment but only use forward most groove? wrong there too: used a 3 groove pulley not for alignment but because A) I had one already and B) 3rd groove may be used for AC in the future. Also I didn't use the forward groove but the middle groove.

If this deal used one of the slotted mount pumps (nascar) personally I despise anything NASCAR...anything from a few years ago, the belt tension could be set by adjusting height of the pump to tighten belt and alternator could be driven from belt just between h2o pump and alter.By all means share some insight and pictures of this setup.
All due respect. Not being an ass just trying to answer your observations as best I can in the order received. any other concerns don't hesitate ask more questions I'd be happy to answer them as best I can.

Jim---this is an example of what a thread along the lines of the one I started week or so ago about CRM and sinergy-----------I had to ask you questions about things visable in your pics to be able to make suggestions ya or na about your requests--

I'll try to post a link to a starter/alternator outfit that has some very good brackets(altho not for a project I'm working on) for mounting alternators
company name is Power Master-located about 5 miles from me in West Chicago Il.
