Road Tripping......
Well most of you know what has transpired this past month. So rather then sit at home or go to my brothers house I felt the need to hit the road w/my 3 dogs. So early yesterday we hit the road && headed to my son & his families house in N.Carolina for Christmas. Other then the 17hr ride it was an uneventful trip. OH wait there was that tractor trailer accident in Knoxville,Tn where the driver lost the trailer & it took 45 minutes to go about 5 miles. The dogs were very well behaved the whole trip which surprised me.
Had great dinner at the sons Bro-n-law tonight && will be spending Christmas withe sons family and will be here till Monday morning when we head back home, just in time to have another minor surgery to remove a painful bone spur in my chest.
Hope everybody has a Merry Christmas.....joeDonate Blood,Plasma,Platelets & sign your DONORS CARD & SAVE a LIFE

Well I got back home after 5 day visit to my son Joe & his family in Garner, NC last night. Did me a lot of good and was happy I decided to go at the last minute. Got to spend time w/him & his family along w/his in-laws & some friends. Best of all I was there for the grandson's birthday Grandpa was one happy camper. Got tons of hugs & kisses from the grandson & the little dickens would run up & jump on me & play farted the whole time, lolol. Took about 18hrs to get there but I made record time getting home, can we say 14hrs to drive 825 miles & that included stopping to let the dogs out. Yep, I took our 3 dogs w/me & they were well behaved too boot.
Hope everyone had a GREAT Christmas, cause I know I did......

A road trip with the dogs and a grandson to teach new tricks? Sounds like a good time to me, and it looks like the grandson didn't mind the dogs, either. Glad you made the trip Joe, and also glad that you missed the bad weather for the trip home! Now to book a flight to Florida when Marge is ready to come home......
Glad you had a great Christmas, filled with lots of love, and wishing you a safe and Happy New Year as we move into 2016.Roger

Rain?????????? Hell I drove it coming & going, only time it didnt rain was the last day I was there & when I cross into Tennessee coming home. In Knoxville TN those crazy SOB's were doing 75mph in the rain through a construction area && had I not done that speed I would have been ran over. I ran in & out of rain all the way there & home for the most part.. While coming up I-64 I was running along side it & it had stopped raining about 100 or so miles before I got off my exit. But some places in Cahokia you would have needed a boat..
And Rich is delivering Marge to me he told he "HAD" to meet me in person. Plus I promised him & his wife a couple of meals at Denise & my favorite places to eat in St Louis, Tucker Steak House & Hodak'sLast edited by TooMany2count; 12-29-2015 at 04:32 PM.

I'm glad to hear you made the trip and you had a great time! The weather has been crazy everywhere. Any flooding down there by you Joe? I'll never forget hauling a 32' enclosed trailer through TN. It was raining so hard you couldn't see your hand in front of your face and those maniacs all wanted to run 75mph. They all had their hazards on and just kept on going. Crazy crazy, crazy.Last edited by 40FordDeluxe; 12-29-2015 at 06:25 PM.

this is about 10 miles from my house down I-255 at the JB Bridge.
My brother told me our levee's were at 45ft which is 5' below the '93 flood..

My brother took me to the hospital for that minor surgery today & when he left to go home it took him over 4hrs to drive about 50 miles. Because of the flooding & he was one of the last cars to go over the Meramec River Bridge on I-55 south before they closed it. We're still 10-15ft before it comes over the levee's & our water seems to be steady & not rising like the rest of the area.
Here's what was floating down the Meramec River this afternoon

I wanted to complain about this NZ slang business, but I see it was resolved before it mattered. LOL..
