Wishing you a speedy recovery. The last time I was in surgery, I died. Five surgeons brought me back.

Just saw this Thread, and I'm sending good thoughts/wishes your way-glad to hear it went well (this gettin' old stuff isn't for the faint of heart), and I hope you have a speedy recovery-you have my total sympathy, as my Wife also has some sinus issues, so I understand the frustration-

    Hope all goes well-

Thanks for the kind words, everybody. On light duty for the next couple of weeks, and then hoping that the new "normal" is more like the pre-December '16, or even better! Post op with the doc is a week away.

Good to hear that things are looking good Roger. A little light duty for a bit isn't necessarily a bad thing !!!

I'm glad to hear things are looking up, hope it continues to get better.

I hope you were nicer to the nursing staff in the recovery room than I was the last time I was "intubated" for throat surgery; when they removed the tube, someone told me to take a deep breath, then when they started to pull the tube, they said ok let it out - no problem. But then something went awry, and my reaction was to sort of come unwound like a spring, and I coldcocked one of the nurses; things got a little excited in there for a few minutes. I tried to make it up to her by sending her some flowers - don't know if it did it though.

Again, thanks to all for the kind words.

The most recent revelation is that it's not uncommon to feel like you were hit by a truck the day following general anesthesia outpatient surgery (in & out in a few hours). I'm a glaring example! Shortly after getting up Wednesday my muscles started stiffening up, and within an hour or two any significant movement was painful, even swallowing! Somewhat better today, but still more soreness than I'd have doing manual labor. Just part of the process, so no worries, but this part was not something I expected. On the good side, I'm not supposed to lift more than 5lbs for a week, and the sore muscles make that rule easier to follow.

A disappointment is that we had booked spots with a local tour group doing a two week tour of Ireland, departing April 27th. This surgery, along with the defined and undefined steps to recovery caused us to cancel the trip. It's the right thing, but it's also a hard thing.

Really sorry to hear about your "pain", and the loss of the Trip (we went to Ireland about 5 Years ago and loved it)-oh well, there is always next Year-

Manual labor? I knew his brother, and I avoid them both whenever I can-

Went back for a post-op check yesterday, and told the doc that I'm having mostly the same symptoms as before surgery - spot pressure in the ethmoid area, post nasal drip at night, ear draining at night, etc. The doc said that there's still a pus pocket in the surgery area, and he evacuated that (shop vac). Generally he's pleased with where we are after surgery, and it may take several weeks of healing/recovery to get everything addressed. Hoping he's right....
