Door speakers
My new - to - me Silverado had a buzzing speaker which was irritating me.
I watched a Utube video and stripped off the door panel. I had a pair of 6" from a parts car, didn't know if they were good. One wasn't, the other was close enough to fit. Then I found a pair of 4" high power speakers which have been taking up prime space on a shelf for a decade or more. So, I pulled the old speaker out of the trash, and cut the outer ring off. Then I trimmed the flanges off the 4", and pop riveted it to the mounting ring. Then, I de-soldered the receptacle from the old speaker, and soldered it to the new. The first one was a bit of a boondoggle, but the second went quick and smooth: except that I somehow misplaced my 7mm socket.
Would have made a good utube video, if I'd had someone to film it..
Education is expensive. Keep that in mind, and you'll never be terribly upset when a project goes awry.

I wanted to complain about this NZ slang business, but I see it was resolved before it mattered. LOL..
