When she's right, use a commercially available damper installer tool. Put some dry ice in a large (1 gallon) plastic freezer bag and wrap it around the crank snout, secured with tape, for about an hour. Put the damper in the oven of your stove at 175 degrees for an hour. Take the damper out of the oven with mitts and remove the dry ice from the crank snout and dry the snout. Rub a little anti-sieze on the crank snout. Not a lot, just a thin covering. Using your installer tool, the damper will literally fall onto the crank snout. Install the retainer bolt, torquing it to spec while holding the flexplate from turning with a large screwdriver on the flexplate teeth and jammed against the engine stand.
