    Mostly settled

Now that I am mostly settled here in Idaho, how many other CHRs reside in South Idaho? I haven't noticed many, if any, posts from Idaho. Responses may be here or with a PM.

Well I'm gonna jump onto Goggle Earthy and see where Idaho is and then wonder what would make you move there. LOL.

So Jack I see you are on the Old Oregon Trail near a lake and handy to Boise which for some reason popped into my head as a place that has a large hot rod event once a year, but then again, I may be totally wrong again.
Nice looking place though with the Mountains not far away.

Thanks Bill; Wow, 238 from Id. Most however look to be inactive or dropped out.

Whiplash, several reasons for the move.
    1. Less rain, so
    2. More sun
    3. Less taxes than King Co. Wa., so
    4. More money in my pocket.
    5. Drier hunting and fishing. (Just got back from a 7 day deer hunt, and no, I didn't get one).
    6. Sale of our house in Wa. paid for a new house and shop in Caldwell with some money left over.
    7. Daughter and SIL are 5 min. away.
    8. There are more reasons I'm sure but I can't remember them.

After 39+ years in Wa. the taxes and rain finally got to us so sold what was our dream house of 23 years and moved. No regrets. And yes it is beautiful here with the mountains and all but Wa. was no slouch in that department either.

Oh yea, there are a number of good car shows here and I can't wait to get back to work on the 34 and join in.

Chris and I just visited Caldwell a couple months back. A niece got married so we drove out to attend.
Beautiful part of the country too.

Now, since you're almost settled in... I just gotta say that "we" can't wait for your return to making the 34 street-able again!

34-40, should have given me a heads up. I could have at least given you guys a beer and a tour of the house and shop. I do a few little things on the 34 now and then and a full restart is getting close.

Jack and I lived just a few miles apart up in Wa. and there's considerable overlap in our list of reasons, though we ended up in very different places. We considered southern Idaho, a little south of where Jack is. Wonderful country. My grandfather's brother migrated to Caldwell many, many moons ago, so I've got some shirt tail relatives there, though we've never met. Life has an interesting way of playing out.....

Jack, nice to hear you're settled in. Did you take any pics while you were hunting by chance? I found an 8pt buck laying dead next to my friend's corn crib the other day. I think it got hit on the road and just laid in the cover of the old barn to die. It was a stinky deal. Haha

Gorgeous scenery and I truly despise the little critter in the last picture, encountered a few of those at Camp Pendleton.

Absolutely gorgeous country side Jack and by the look of the distant trees etc down below you in one photo, one has to be one hell of a lot fitter than I am to climb that high. The amazing thing is if you had had the good fortune to shoot a dear, then one would of needed to carry the blighter out to the truck. Now that would of been the hard but enjoyable part of the hunt knowing there is going to be fresh venison to eat.
