Beach Hop, Whangamata NZ.
We attended this event the 22nd to 26th March, unofficial count of 1800 vehicles; with a lot more attending but not signed in.
On Monday the 27th we headed for home, got as far as Matamata (still five hours drive from home,) and broke the gearbox in the bus. Couldn't transport it home, (too expensive fro one thing, and I doubt it would fit through the Awakino and Mt Messenger tunnels on the back of a transporter,) so it's now in Hamilton at Marshall Transmissions having its internals studied.
Here's a clip of one part of one run; the bus is toward the end:

Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.

Thanks Charlie.
Marshall Transmissions have a good name in NZ now since a new owner took over a wee while ago.
The previous owner managed to stand in front of a bullet from a Police rifle; which didn't do his health much good.
He became late.
And thanks Roger. Yeah, this modern technology gets me baffled.
And hitting it with a hammer doesn't seem to work.
