My tank is still 50%, I last filled it three or four years ago. Ever since I got the wood stove, I use the propane for cooking only.
This spring a couple tornados hit south of my house, and I helped clean up. I got about three cords of pecan and oak. This will be the first year I've ever had enough dry wood for the whole winter. I'm thinking I'll sell half of it, and cut some more; I like having green wood to mix in, or put in at night..
Education is expensive. Keep that in mind, and you'll never be terribly upset when a project goes awry.

Ouch Shine, I just prebought propane at 1.15 per gallon here in Missouri, thats up from last year since we are having so much rain they are going to be using the heck (anticipated) to dry grain. We can prebuy and it locks the price in for the entire winter. Why is mine so big and yours so small, Chrysler FirePower

Crap, I better check it out tomorrow, lately I've not been contracting and it's been working out good for me. With the hurricane, and it looks to be a wet fall for corn, I better check.Seth

thankfully i only use 1 tank a year. have a small heater for when we're gone or for really cold days. i heat with wood. i also fill my small bottles from the big tank .
we refine it here but pay more than up north. go figure . i was really expecting 1.25 but i may have misunderstood him. guess i'll know shortly. still not bad though. less than 200 a year for heat and our electric goes below 100 for winter. our winter forecast is sketchy . around normal likely.Last edited by shine; 08-29-2017 at 07:10 AM.

Our corn is so dry I doubt the propane usages will be as high as other falls since a lot of farmers won't be drying what little corn they have to pull out. The crop looks pretty meek around here for sure. Beef prices and everything will be up in no time probably along with everything else.Ryan

the heads are pollen sacks , looks like seeds. when the ears start they put out tassels (one for each kernal ) the heads open and pollinate the ears. mine went to head before i had any ears to pollinate . usually head high but stunted real bad this year . will spend the winter rebuilding my garden soil.
