Bald Eagle bait
Well, we cleaned out the freezer and found some old lamb chops and fish that were in the bottom for good reason and placed them on the dumpster to feed to our dog for the next week. This morning my wife said she's pretty sure she seen a Bald Eagle on or close to our dumpster this morning checking out the food. So I decided to take the meat and place it on our shed roof where it is visible by our security camera to see what happens. I'll keep you informedSeth

Well, the fish dried up and Chip has been getting a lot of lamb chops, no Eagles yet. A co worker of mine says if they throw their dead baby pigs about 100 feet away from the building, the Eagles will come, if they put them right by the building they stay away.Seth

Years and years ago a buddy lived in SE Alaska, near Juneau. Would feed the eagles from his back deck (adjacent to water), fresh crab, tossing chunks in the air and they'd swoop from the trees to grab it.Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon

You guys have the Eagles that most Americans envision, a mighty hunter. Where I live they mostly eat the dead pigs from all the hogs in the area, they act more like scavengers.Seth

If I put out bait like that, the only birds that would be interested are turkey vultures, crows or ravens. We do have Bald Eagles at the cottage but they mostly just harass the Ospreys and try to steal fish from them.Remember, Freedom isn't Free, thousands have paid the price so you can enjoy what you have today.

I believe most predators will scavenge when presented with the opportunity. It's just easier..
Education is expensive. Keep that in mind, and you'll never be terribly upset when a project goes awry.

My parent's neighbors lost a purse puppy to a Bald Eagle last week. They have a lot around them lately and I'm not sure why. There was a dead deer in a corn field about a half mile south of them. I counted 10 that I could see, some already flew away. 4 of them were large too. The deer was about 50 yards off the road. If I got too close they all flew off but the biggest one. He (or she) looked vicious.Ryan
