Factory Five Forums
Here's a link to a recent post on the ffcars.com forum about locked posts on the factory five forum https://thefactoryfiveforum.com/content.php. Both forums discuss FFR cars, but only the second forum listed is run by the FFR company.
My post got locked on the other forum! - FFCars.com : Factory Five Racing Discussion Forum
They don't like people telling the truth about the many problems with their kits like that 818 and GTM that both have very poor fitting bodies.
I was smart enough to read extensively on these forums about the '33 and knew what a huge mistake it would be to buy the kit. After mentioning a couple of times about the lousy power windows on the '33, the GTM and no operable side windows on the '65 coupe, I've been permanently banned from these sites because of complaints from pro builders who make a living by building these kits for people who don't have the time, the space or the skills to build a kit themselves. Most pro-built kits have to cost at least $100,000, even if it only takes 1000 hours to build the car. I've got about 3000 hours into mine and as much as 1000 are due to fixing defects.
With a VPN service I can still browse the sites.Last edited by daveS53; 03-12-2018 at 03:50 PM.

kit car sites are locked in to sell kits. people who buy or own kits are po'd about the problems but will get testy if you talk down about them. the only kit i have ever saw that was half way decent is a few of the cobra kits. even those have problems.

So why come over here and drag that drama with you?? Some folks buy a "kit" and figure it should just bolt together and everything will be perfect.
We all know the reality. And it's nothing new.
Leave the crap there, nothing will change the minds of some folks and I wouldn't even try.

Never bothered with a kit because i like to do everything from scratch, myself. But yeah, if I did buy a kit from someone, I would certainly expect it to just bolt together and everything be perfect. If the maker warned me up front that there may be some fitment problems, I wouldn't bother to buy his kit in the first place. You either know what you're doing or you don't.
