Thread: Help!!! - 1941 international pickups in maine

So, my neighbor approached me about a friend of his, who has MS. Apparently before being wheel chair bound, he was pretty handy with a wrench. Now, as time has gone by, his wife has convinced him to unload some of his projects that were never finished.
One of these was a 1941 International Pick-up. Actually, it's closer to 2 1941s.
One cab has already been chopped, but the other is stock.
The chopped cab appears to be a near whole truck, but for interior, and has been stored outside but covered and is very solid.
The second is a basket case, and stored inside.
There is a 350 crate motor with chrome valve covers, a chrome alternator, a painted frame and boxes and boxes of parts and tools. They're looking to have someone come and take everything for one price.
That means the parts, trucks, tools, engine hoists...everything.

These are good folks, but they have no idea what the ballpark price range is that they should be looking to get for everything together. Nor do I...
Any help from you guys would be really appreciated.

I have plenty of images, but I can't figure out how to insert them here.

Surely the family must have some kind of idea of what they'd take for it all. Or maybe what they need for it all??
I might be interested but the distance / hauling costs might kill the thought.

The number $8,000 was said, but it didn't seem to be anything concrete. From my impression, I think they know they'll never get what was invested. But his wife, who is taking care of him full time, has no emotional attachment to anything, and would much rather have the money. He's a veteran, and I'm only trying to help make sure they don't get taken advantage of. And I got the impression that they weren't too computer savvy.
So,like I said before, they're good people; they're just in a unfortunate position.
Whether you're interested or not, Mike, what would you think would be a reasonable offer?
Of course, just at face value...
And yes, hauling cost I would think would be a major factor from the Augusta Maine area...

I think I would have to be all in for 6 or 7 K, including transport. Again, fwiw..

Those are some cool looking trucks when they are done! It's hard to say on a price because it looks like there is a lot of stuff there but there could be a lot of key stuff not there too. I'm betting Mike is really close though.

Just scrolling through the pics I think the 8k would be a good starting point. I had 5k in my head but I have a bit of project burn out going on , so I have a tendency to low ball everything I see lately I like those old IH trucks though!
