Kudos to me and my vets
I'm just so happy I've got to share.
As quartermaster of my VFW post, I've been working very hard for three years to qualify our post for the All State award. This year we made it! Lots of requirements, and a long row to hoe, but we did it.
Yay for us!.
Education is expensive. Keep that in mind, and you'll never be terribly upset when a project goes awry.

We qualified for All State award. It's pretty prestigious. It means we did all the required programs: the two essay contests for jr and senior high, the teacher of the year program, the emergency responder program, made community donations, attended all meetings, attended annual officer training, attained 103% membership, effective patriotic program, filled community service reports, and more.
It's a big deal, and a great deal of effort. Last year we barely missed. This year we made it. And... I'm already working towards next year!
BTW... I'll get a neat new hat too..

Oh wait, did you mean what's the award?
A new hat.
It doesn't translate well, but it means a lot to us.
It's a pretty special hat..
