It plays fabulously! Low action with stainless frets, stainless frets are slick and the strings bend almost as easy a Les Paul. Here's a youtube of this guitar way back in another band I was in, same pickups, I'm on stage right with the hat.

I got the guitar at a reasonable price because someone had sanded the original finish to bare wood with 60 grit, it was pretty ugly, scratches and gouges everywhere. A little block sanding (a lot) and some filler here and there to fix the gouges, and Wa-La.
The color is purple pearl with a micro flake intercoat and candy red over the top. An experiment with what I had on hand. The candy was used to darkened the purple more to my liking (it was a little too bright for me before), the flake was just why not, "everything looks better with flake", lol.
Pickguard color, parchment (off white) pearloid! I'm partial to the pearloid pickguards, unfortunately no one makes them anymore for this model guitar (bridge pickup is set back closer to the bridge and the neck heal is wider), so I made a template and make my own.
Probably have a finished picture of it by tomorrow.

Nice! My main guitar is a Steinberger 5 string bass I've been playing for the last 20 years; been thinking about doing a heavy metalflake job on it.1 Corinthians 1:27

The first model car I built was a 32 Ford roadster by Revell in the mid 50's.
