Been a while, but I am back again.

Well Dave Severson what's been up.
Got so many projects now can't keep up.
Then I just got done again going thru Chemo and now we found my wife has cancer.
So she has been going to Arizona for her treatments at Cancer treatment center's of America. I think one of the last times I was on here a guy was talking military stuff and I said I was a Army Sniper. He said what caliber rifle did you use, I said I couldn't remember??? He said if you were a Sniper you would not forget that. I said well my health ain't been the best and I am forgetting things. He said your lying you were not a sniper. I didn't want to say anything but I had gotten lost on the way home to back then. That's not a good feeling, and one of the few times I ever really got scared. Well my mother passed away a little while back here, from what else Cancer. Anyhow my brother was going thru some of her box's and found a photo that I had sent her from when I was in the Army. And what do you know I have my Sniper rifle and you can plainly see my Sniper patch on my uniform, you can also see that everyone else, are carrying M16 rifles in the photo. Thanks Mom still looking out for me. HA! HA! HA! Guess I have to figure out how to post photo's again on here. LOL!!! Let's see. well maybe this will work. https://www.flickr.com/photos/152992...in/dateposted/

Nice to see you back posting. Sorry to hear about your wife and you and hope everything is going well.

As far as the guy who called you a liar I wouldn’t worry too much about it. In his defense there are a lot of fakes and BSers out there, but calling somebody a liar without knowing the person or real proof is rude and uncalled for.

I probably asked you years ago but when were you assigned to the 7th Infantry? I was there from 84 thru 86 when the Division converted from Heavy to Light (what a PIA). Hell that was 35 years ago for me. I remember a lot but am also fuzzy on a lot of it too and that I suspect is normal for a whole lot of us.

    By the way neat picture.

I got some of those memory pills they show on TV, but I don't think they're working, I can't remember where I put em.

Sorry for your troubles, thoughts and prayers sent your way.

Good to see you on here again, and very sorry to hear about the cancer battles, here's hoping everything works out good for both of you! Great picture, hard to believe we were all that young once, isn't it? As for the memory issues, heck sometimes I think it's a good day if I remember my name!

    Kurt,
Glad to see you back, but very sorry to hear that you and your wife are dealing with her cancer. That shifts your focus very quickly and makes other things much less significant. Pray that her treatment is effective, and with minimal to no side effects. Hang in there and know that you're not alone.

No Mike I don't think you asked me that. I try talking to people who were there, we must have been at Fort Ord at the same time them. Freaken Cool. And yes I was assigned to the 7th Infantry Division. My company was strait accrossed the Street from the Fox Hole Club. A co. 1/32 Infantry 7th Infantry Division. They were always loaning me out to other's though. Like I way always going around and training with other Special Forces, Seals, Rangers and the Green Berets helped to train us in Sniper school. I used to go around giving classes on Rank structure of all our enemies. Yep had to know that so I knew to shoot a General instead of a private. LOL!!! Man that is cool I never knew you were there. Crazy. I don't remember if it was Dave, or someone else on here that told me they hunted Sniper's for their Company. That might have been LoneWolf Cruzer if you remember him. any how I pick me up a 850 HP Ford Shelby a little while back, and with a pulley change it goes up to about 1,000 HP. It's hard to not step on it when your driving though to much fun. Amen.

Ted Dehaan I have that same exact rifle and it came with a Remington scope. I can't get it dialed in so I figure the scope is jumping around so I been looking at a Leopold scope. Normally it only takes me 9 rounds to get it right. 3 to a group, if you know what I mean. 3 at a time in a tight group, then adjusting scope where it needs to be.
That 7mm shoot's nice and flat instead of a big ark. I also got a recall on my trigger so that'e getting replaced with a timney trigger as well.

    Kurt I see your using flickr to host your pictures. If you want to post the picture directly to the thread;

    1. Double click on the picture in the album

    2. On the bottom right of the page you will see a star, arrow and a down icon. click on the arrow (share photo).

    3. At the top of the box click on the “BB code"

    4. In the bottom box select the size. Medium (500 X 396) seems to work well on this forum.

    5. Click on the link shown in the box which will highlight he link. Copy and paste the link into your post.

I was an Intel puke. When I was assigned to the 7th I started out in the 107th MI Battalion and was the NCOIC of the Counter Intelligence Analysis Section. About half way thru my tour at Ord they ended up making me G2 Command and Control NCOIC (G2 Operations Sergeant) and assigned me to Div HHC.

I was in Government quarters out by the back gate (the one that went into Sea Side). That was good, it made it pretty close to get to Pep Boys . There was a weekly Cruise Night over in Salinas I’d usually make it to a couple of times a month (can’t remember the name of the drive in).

Loved the climate on Ord……not so much Hunter-Liggett in the summer . The drive up and down highway 1 was always neat.

Chances are if we were there at the same time you probably saw my cars running around (but I doubt you’d remember). Here is about the only picture I have from that time. It was taken at the back of my quarters….the guy in the background is my dad. He and Mom had come out from Illinois for a visit.
