Well I’ve be in the hospital since yesterday with ad chest pains and out of control afid. They’ve done testing and say they are redoing my drugs and may have to chemically stop and restart my heart to get it back in beat correctly. Not looking forward to it. But I am at the best place, getting the best care of though possibly can get. Crazy part hospital has really great food. I had Parmesan chicken, pasta, the best cream of chicken soup I’ve ever eaten and gave me applesauce. I’ll keep you guys updated, hopefully I’ll be out tomorrow or the next day. Susie’s a bit upset that I’m not there to take her for walks and we both need them. Talk to you soon guys, JoeDonate Blood,Plasma,Platelets & sign your DONORS CARD & SAVE a LIFE

Hang tough, Joe! Better to be where you are than dealing with unknowns at home and wondering if the end is near! Upsets to the flow rate in your system aren't trivial. Prayers for you & Susie.Roger

I got both knees and both hip's done by the VA.
I tell them everytime make sure you knock me out real good because I take pain meds 3 times a day.
3 our of 4 times I came too on the operating table, the one time I woke up and was telling the nurse's jokes.
The last time I came too, I looked at the guy who was druging me and said hey, I am awake, am I supposed to be awake???
He's looking at me right in the eye's and I say what the heck is that pounding??? LOL!!!
The doc was pounding the new hip in to place. HA! HA! HA! Good Luck.
I sure am glad that they had that sheet up, I probably would have passed out, had I seen my bone sticking out. LOL!!!

They released me, changed my meds, got my blood pressure under better control got blood thinners & gave me clearance for my hip . Go back see my cardiologist, still may have to shock my heart but I’ll find that out when I see the doctor in a week or so. Thanks everybody for your thoughts and prayers hasn’t been easy, it was the first time in my life so I was actually scared for my life....joeDonate Blood,Plasma,Platelets & sign your DONORS CARD & SAVE a LIFE

If everything goes as planned tomorrow morning around 9:30 AM they’ll start cutting on me and I’ll go have a new hip later that morning. I just hope that it goes as easy as all the other implanted prosthetics that I have. Let you guys know what happens in a few days. Thanks for all the well wishes....joeDonate Blood,Plasma,Platelets & sign your DONORS CARD & SAVE a LIFE

Great news, Joe! We'll be looking forward to hearing the minute by minute replay from behind the curtain of anesthesia, and the stories of first steps! Praying for steady hands for the Doc, attentive care from the nurses, and a speedy recovery! Oh, and more great food, too!Roger

Well I’m going to do what I normally do when I have surgery, I always asked to look at the equipment and what not. So I’m probably going to ask the surgeon to take a picture of my prosthetic just so I have a picture of it and know what it looks like. I have found that normally most of the tools they use I have the same brand name as the stuff we have in our shops.
thanks for the kind words....joeDonate Blood,Plasma,Platelets & sign your DONORS CARD & SAVE a LIFE

Joe: something your doctor WILL NOT recommend is homeopathic medicine.
A half-teaspoon of minced garlic washed down with a glass of water each morning WILL bring down your blood pressure. Also your cholesterol.
I started the garlic therapy coupled with eating two bananas each morning. It lowered my BP fast! After a few months, cut back to one banana, then none, and halved the garlic. Now I just take the half teaspoon daily. My numbers stay in the green.
You may notice that I told you to start with a half teaspoon: that's because you are already on meds. If you start with a whole teaspoon like I did, plus the meds could be too much.
Somewhere around the third week it really started knocking the numbers to the basement. I could totally feel when my BP was down. I had no energy at all. It took some time to get used to it. Now I can totally "feel" my BP and it's totally managed with the half teaspoon of garlic daily.
Your mileage may vary..
Education is expensive. Keep that in mind, and you'll never be terribly upset when a project goes awry.

Good thing I very seldom take pain meds, can’t stand taking them. When I had one of my knees done only only had to take one pain pill and when they fused my low back I told him to pull the pain pump the day after the surgery because it didn’t hurt it was just sore. If I take any pain type med for more than 2-3 days I get insomnia. Last time it was about 60hrs, not good and I was ugly. I didn’t like me.. So hopefully I won’t need them....joeDonate Blood,Plasma,Platelets & sign your DONORS CARD & SAVE a LIFE

Yes it’s 1 AM in Florida I haven’t been able to fall sleep yet. The hip is in and at this moment I have almost no pain. Will find out tomorrow how much pain I’m actually in, if it’s like it is now I’m good to go. Doc said my hip socket was worn out a lot more than normal and that the hip should’ve actually been replaced last April. So he told me that was going to be a few restrictions on things I can do because of the back of the socket being worn out. He told me it’s gonna take 10 to 12 weeks before I can finally do regular routine stuff again. Thought I’d give you guys an update, the kid might be down but I’m not out and I’m not going anywhere. I got too many people to bother in my life still....joeDonate Blood,Plasma,Platelets & sign your DONORS CARD & SAVE a LIFE
