It's still just as bad, if not worse than it's been for several days. I just closed out, reinitiated CHR and got the Page Not Found on every new post. Closed out again, came back and it linked first try. Google Chrome, and not interested in Seamonkey or Safari.

I use safari, it's been happening regularly to me, frustrating at best.

So I did what was suggested in post #21, second trip around the yard a squirrel ran out in front of me and I fell breaking both legs and my back. My doctor says I have a good case of malpractice for negligent advise, and my attorney says with it being on a public forum, he feels a class action suit is in order as it may involve thousands of innocents. He's thinking several MILLION in damages and probably at least the same in punitive.

I use Firefox exclusively and the problem comes and goes, so I believe it's a server problem. Remember, this problem has occurred before, but not nearly as long as this time.

I'm finding that when the "Page Not Found" pops up I hit the "Back" button to the previous screen, then hit the "Refresh" button (Clockwise Arrow beside "Home"), then hit the thread again it usually comes up. Not every time, but often.

As for where the server resides, I couldn't care less and I'm not going to criticize because the forum is free and has been a great source of knowledge for me through the years. In fact, I've met at least four of the guys who post here, and they've become good friends to me. I hope Brent finds an easy fix when he has time to deal with it.

When 404 error happens. I unplug the computer and run around the yard 3 times. Holding the power button in. So it dumps the cache. Plug everything in and it works? Sometimes I forget and leave the machine in the shop. So I am really not sure what the fix is. Just taking a breath for a day or so, or clearing the cache.

Who's criticizing what, the network question is legit.

"still just as bad, if not worse than it's been for several days." this is a complement ? No it is hounding the owner.

So much nicer then a suggestion that just might not be fixable .............network traffic.

    Good grief Charley Brown

Well THAT's helpful! I'm not sure how the location of the server, be it in Brent's basement, his Master Bedroom, a rented storage unit or Times Square makes any difference to you but if it does then you've asked, and we'll see if there's an answer.

I posted my comment about the problem being as bad or worse in response to Bill's saying that he wasn't seeing any problems yesterday. No criticism, just saying it's not fixed. From what I'm seeing and hearing from others it's a continuing issue, and getting it fixed would be nice.

I posted the keystroke pattern that seems to work for me because in my experience the guy searching for the gremlin can sometimes gain insight into the problem by someone taking time to say "When I do this, it seems to bounce back quickly." Just trying to help, as you are with the "...run around the yard three times" comment

    I'm done here.

    Good Grief, Charlie Brown!!

Yup, happening for me yesterday and this AM, I'll reach out to Brent again and see if I can get him out of his new toy long enough to figure out the server issues

Last I saw was that riveted "airstream" flathead machine. May be something newer?

Vintage Steam Punk Style! I was struggling for words and settled on "riveted airstream", but Steam Punk says it right!
