Cub Cadet service
Some weeks back my Cub Cadet Model 73 had a throwout bearing failure.. I guess after 42 years it was bound to happen. So I ordered some parts and once in hand I slid the motor forward and pulled the driveshaft and tore down the clutch system.. only to discover the driveshaft was also damaged. I could've bought a replacement for 35 bucks.... but as my wife routinely reminds me. I've got machines and bundles of dollars tied up in tooling - plus I found I had a 1" piece of stock the length needed so what else to do but spin one out.
Since you like pics, here's a few - in no particular order of course!

Just a couple more. Into the mill for a few holes and polish off the clutch face hubs. Again in no order..

Once upon a time long ago I was told the with a decent multimeter, signal generator and Oscope you should be able to diagnose and fix most everything electronic. On the mechanical side a lathe, milling machine and some good micrometers and one who knows how to use them will produce equal results.
And you, sir, are the epitome on the mechanical side.Ken Thomas
