I know a few of the guys from here - myself included - are on FaceBook. I enjoy Marketplace but have noticed a lot more "stores" selling.. it's going the way of that big "auction site little by little. Just my opinion.

it's all the diecast and toys that drive me nuts. 4 trucks and the rest of the page is junk.

Seems to me the closer you are to a big metro area the worse it gets. It's hard to sift through page upon page of junk around here, looking for that one decent item. eBay's a joke for an individual, they've ruined CraigsList, and now MarketPlace is sliding down the slope.Roger

with this economy folks are hurting. hell because of the war on natural gas our electric bill spiked up 200 . so many are selling off stuff to survive. lot of overpriced pasture art out there but you cant blame them. i feel for the guys living paycheck to paycheck. this crap is killing them. it pisses me off because they are the ones who do the lions share of working and dying for this country .
i'm just blessed because we are retired and grow most all our food. dont use much fuel and are debt free finally . we do keep our place cool so we pay for that.

I think the s*** is going to hit the fan within a year. Thankfully, I am debt-free, but I am still living on a working man's salary. I have equity, but not a tremendous pad in my checkbook. Thankfully I have a pretty solid job and get treated very well. I'm glad sold my Trans Am when I did, I got top dollar for it, things could be different down the road.Seth

Neat Falcon. What are your plans for it.
I thank god I got as much done on the house and shop as I did, when I did.......couldn't afford to do it now with the cost of everything.
.I've NEVER seen a car come from the factory that couldn't be improved.....

I've had fairly good results on Marketplace getting rid of a big part of the ol' stash, but like any place we work the scum eventually moves in. Most recently Craigslist went downhill fast, roughly about the time we left Washington St., and now they're creeping into Marketplace. The latest "hustle" is the potential "buyer" asks a couple questions, ones that are answered already in my ad as I'm a bit more thorough than most, and then they say they want to buy it but can't get to me right away. Will I take payment through ______ ,some app I've never heard of or only seen a few references to. They always say they'll have their kid or brother come pick up the stuff after I get the payment. Apparently the play is to contest the sale, get their money back, and the seller is out the merch. Also, seen where it's a phishing scam to get bank account access...........whatever. Folks cuss "this online sales stuff", but 50 years ago using the newspaper ads it was sorta the same, scams or flakes were slightly different in method, but they were still scammers or flakes back then too. You learn to figure out how to minimize it and the ability to move stuff is handy, so life goes on.Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon

the falcon will be a 70's streetfreak gasser. i've been collecting parts for years.
we sold some of our farm land and are doing a complete remodel on the house. insane prices today. we bought a container and have most all the supplies bought before prices went nuts. did the kitchen first . i bought a 53ft trailer to store all my shop junk in this fall. cant tax it if it's on wheels
hopefully this winter i can finish my ac install in the shop. not planning on doing much during summer any more. but want it cleaned out so i can work on my own for a change.
i found my 5ton ac on marketplace for 350 dollars . only about 40 miles away. got there and it was Boosted GT from street outlaws.

I told Ian he'd be better off with an 80's 5.0 bellhousing and 4 or 5 speed, but he wants to keep it as original as possible. It's his car and his money and I'll let him know about your advice Roger and your 4 speeds Shine.Ken Thomas
