72 Monte Carlo Heat Question
Hey guys,
Recently acquired a 72 Monte Carlo and a Big block but have a question about the heater core function. I assume the car is a non a/c optioned car as you can tell by attached pics anyways, where do i find my heater core hoses (if i even have a heater core). Perhaps heat wasn't optioned? I've searched and cannot locate hose bungs like on my 71. where do no ac cars draw hot coolant is my main question.BARB

Looks like someone removed the heater core and filled the firewall, Barb. The heater core tube fit through holes, one above the other on the passenger side near the hood spring. Here's a link to Year One showing the core for the non-ac car - https://www.yearone.com/Catalog/1964....-heater-coresRoger

Barb,
I Googled "1972 monte carlo heater core" and found several YouTube videos on changing it, specific to the Monte. The non-ac heater cores haven't really changed much since about '47 other than measurements.Roger

Barb, your heater core lines came out just to the right of the heater housing cover.( right as in you're looking at your pic. It would be the LH side of the actual cover) You can see where some one welded them up in your first pic. If they gutted everything, you might look at a universal heater to install in there for now to get you some heat.Ryan
