Snow and more snow
So I heard this today. There was a house in Madison SD that blew up this week because of a gas leak. Apparently they was about 10 ft of snow on the gas line and the weight broke the gas line and filled the house with gas. There is video of it from a neighbor's security camera, the house completely exploded ( no one was home) So now houses are exploding because of all the snow. More snow predicted for Thursday, yay!!Seth

I was back in Illinois/Eastern Iowa last week in part to pick up a small cargo trailer. I really wanted to spend a couple more days back there but the first storm was supposed to hit on Thursday and it looked like there would be a small window on Wednesday that I could get out and south of it. They were predicting one storm after another for the next week and a half.
The little Ram 50 did good pulling it but realistically should be a little heavier to pull the trailer especially in a crosswind, and I sure didn’t want to be on slick roads with it.

As far as the blame Ken, I’m blaming the solar panels and windmills for changing the weather patterns hey why not I can make up “science” with the best of them.

Yup, the second house that has blown up from a gas leak this winter! There's still some debate on the actual cause for both of them but IMO both were because people didn't keep their gas regulators free of snow build up. Whether the gas lines broke because of the snow weight or the regulator vent was frozen shut and the increased pressure caused the explosion is still in question. The damage to both houses is so extensive that it's pretty much a guess what actually caused the explosion but it was definitely from a gas leak! Being an old farm kid who is used to the regulator on a propane tank freezing the vent shut, clearing the snow from around the gas regulator is still my first snow removal after a snow fall. Today's scheduled activities is to fill the gas can for the snowblower and make sure it's ready to go on Thursday. Been a tough winter, the girls haven't had a week of school without a cancellation or at the very least a late start since Christmas vacation ended!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

I was hoping you would chime in on this Dave, this is right in your backyard. A frozen regulator makes more sense then a broken gas line. It's a wake up call to clean off The regulators.Seth
