    Henry Rifle (Jack)

Some of us remember when Jack, aka Henry Rifle was a regular here, logging the details of his build of what I believed to be a Righteous '34 3 Window Coupe, starting with a Downs body that needed love. Painted what he called his "Bug Collecting Yellow", Jack's coupe became my screen saver at the office for several months as I was considering ordering a roller package '33/34 from N&N and playing the "retired" card. My Build Thread, "Followed Me Home" was the result, and Jack & I traded a lot of messages during my build, but we never met face to face.
I had an email from Jack, and he shared that after selling the yellow coupe, "...because of the terrible roads around here" he had ditched the daily driver for a See Me Red Mustang with the 460HP V8! Says it gets him to & from the grocery store just fine!!

Good to hear he's doing well; at first I thought your post was going to be a bit more ominous. A small correction; it was a Gibbon, not Downs. We shared the perils of dealing with the son rather than the father from that once reliable company.

Somehow some of us ol' farts keep gravitating to these Mustang things..............hmmmmm

Yeah my thoughts too Bob.....I kind of dreaded opening the thread.

Not me , I'm going the opposite direction and getting rid of my last one this coming weekend (the old white 351W powered 77 Coupe). It's going to Cade..... figure he's got enough experience now not to kill himself with it

I stand corrected, Uncle Bob!! I do recall that it was a Gibbon's body, but Downs is what my fingers typed. And I didn't consider the "Oh No..." thought with my thread title. I should have added to it to convey good times.

Mike, the little Mustang with the big motor going to Cade brought a smile! I expect he'll enjoy it, and will be an ideal owner to keep it going for a long time.
