El Camino vs Ranchero
Did neone see the episode of Full Throttle on the History Channel on Wednesday? It featured one of the biggest rivalries in the history of cars...Ford vs Chevy...Ranchero vs El Camino. Two teams went face to face to see which can build a faster more powerful ride...in the end the El Camino won 2/3 races but in my opinion that was at the fault of the drivers. What do yall think about this legendary rivalry? Me, of course being a ranchero owner love Fords.

I didn't see full throttle but I like Rancheros and Elcaminos. Rancheros were first, El Caminos had a little better factory hp to make them more of a muscle car BUT, that leaves a lot of room to customize rancheros. You don't know what you've got til it's gone

I lean towards the El-camino myself.More aftermarket, more factory motor and most of all, Its Not A Ford! Besides, BBcs are common under el-camino hoodsRight engine, Wrong Wheels

My preference has to be with the Ranchero, doubt that surprises anyone too much.... Someday I'm going to get back to work on my own......Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

I saw the show and the Ford did not have limited slip differential and the chevy did. It was a poor engine combo in the Ford but interesting overall. I think they would have been evenly matched if the torque converter, gear, and limited slip where the same. The chevy looked very good.

I saw the preview but missed the show. Even though I am working on a sbc now, I had a rough '66 Ranchero which I bought primarily to move furniture from one house to another. It was pretty rough with a ripped up interior and the cab was badly dented from a treefall, but it had a rebuilt 289. It was a ball to drive even though the gas gauge was broke and I had to keep a book for when I filled the tank and the odometer reading. Well my wife hated the destroyed interior and judged the roof could not be fixed so I sold it. The wife said to scrap it as it was total junk, but a local dragger with a built up '66 ranchero thought it would be neat to have the same model for a tow car and he came, started it up and laid three $100 bills on the hood; I signed over the title and he took it home, but I wish I could have fixed it up with a large sunroof and a new interior because it was a "true Ford", a tin can with an engine! It rattled gloriously and only got 14 mpg, but it was great fun to drive!

I was hoping they would have been running a 454 and a 460, the rat contest would have been more to my likingObjects in the mirror are losing
