Yeah,,Most cars of that time suffered from the same thing,,,Big Buick's,,Oldsmobiles,,,Pontiac's.
I had a 1958 Buick special which used to be quite interesting to drive after 30 minutes of hard intermittent braking,,,talk about runnaway frieght train.
