channeling or not
i was wondering if any body has any info about when you are building a chassis if you made it like 1 inch lower in the middle of the chassis where the body sits would it be channeling the body to the frame or would it even work out.
i was also wondering if any body has any useful info on building the chassis. thank

Just don't channel (Let's say a gen II camaro) 4" if "U" "R" 6' tall. HEHEHE moral of the story ........ "Always check headroom B4 the drop !!
Not as big a consideration in an older car with more headroom, but still worth checking out, depending on the type of seats you plan to install.Last edited by pro70z28; 01-13-2005 at 10:16 AM.

Richard is correct as usual. From a customizers terminology point of view lowering the middle of the chassis as you suggested would be called Z-ing the frame as opposed to channeling the body over the frame. Hope my diagram works.

PatOf course, that's just my opinion, I could be wrong!

Yup, I was followin' you. Just reflecting on my own predicament with body / chassis modification...... (which I think is under control for now).
Kind of an apples and oranges comparison I know but, the subject kinda' brought back thoughts of the lump on my head from low clearance. HEHEHE"PLAN" your life like you will live to 120.

You're welcome Mike, glad it worked out for you. Roger, it's taken a few years but my inventory of excess parts has shrunk a fair bit from 1 1/2 garage stalls to about an eight by eight space. ...
