So what's the music choice of the CHR crowd???
I'm interested (i'm sure so are others) in what kind of music the Gearhead community here on CHR listens to on a regular basis. In other words, what you listen to the 'largest' percent of the time. I'm willing to gamble that there will be a 75% sucess rate for oldies... they just seem to go hand in hand with gearheads.
My vote, oldies... For the most part that's all I listen to. I'll listen to classic rock and some....very select Disco stuff but mostly Oldies. Our local oldies radio station always puts on a helluva radio show every Fri/Sat/Sun night. Great entertainment and music while wrenching in the garage late at night!Dan Ouellette

I like blues and hard-edged rock. Everthing from the stuff from my "formative" years (Led Zep, Mountain, Doors, Hendrix, Allman Bros., Cream, old ZZ Top, Black Sabbath, etc.) to the Southern Rock stuff of Molly Hatchet, Black Oak Arkansas, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Marshall Tucker, Wet Willie and others I was exposed to while in the South while in the Navy to Jonny Lang, Kenny Wayne Sheppard, Robert Cray, and all the old Chicao Blues and Delta Blues I can get, mixed in with Metallica, Linkin Park, Train, and a lot of the newer stuff that has an edge to it. No rap or hip-hop. I don't have that many bullets. LOL mainly, in the Garage, it's hard rock. No, if you were me, you'd do it just like I did.

I knew you could do it Dano!
I voted oldies since that's the music station I've got set on the radio, but in the shop the CD plays a variety. Just bought a Willie Nelson Super Hits, and a Roy Clark/Buck Trent banjo CD, gotta love that bluegrass. I often will get those compendium albums, you know, the ones that have the hits of a given year, or hits of a theme, or all instumental, soul, anything but disco. Then sometimes a switch to classical, not Dano's elevator music, but some hard drivin' stuff from Beethoven and Tchaikowsky, none of that sissy Bach stuff. Some time try drivin' a convertible on a winding road with Wagner's "Ride of the Valkyrie" at full tilt. Can't place the tune? Think helicopters and Apocalypse Now. For road trips it's hard to beat Seger, BTO, ZZ, and selected tunes from the Doors, Credence, Steppenwolf, and Dire Straits.Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon

If my memory is correct you seemed to like Bob Seger!!!
What's wrong with Hip Hop... Your description sounds pretty closed minded to me, I guess I am at the wrong forum!!!

Anything with early Clapton except Delaney Bonnie and Friends. A growing Hendrix collection. Zep early on. Some Eagles, Max Reger violin concertos, Pat Metheny American Garage for travelling tunes, Pink Floyd, Queens of the Stoneage, Godsmack, Soundgarden, Audioslave, Rage Against the Machine, Bob Marley, Van Morrison, Johnny Hank Waylon and Willie, Emerson Lake and Palmer, or at least that's all I can remember for the moment. I have more cd's in the garage than in the house.sixty clicks West of Chu Lai

The rumble of a big block Chevy, well muffled, but not so quiet you can't tell it's there. Currently the only one of my cars that has a radio doesn't have speakers.

Music
I'm not sure how metal goes with them Crager SS?? Anyway I'll listen to just about anything EXCEPT rap, hip hop, and country. Not a big fan of classical either (sorry bethoveen). I'ld say Metallica is up there for me along with Clapton, U2, Pink Floyd, POD, Rich Mullins, Audio Adrenilen, SonicFlood, Third Day, Depeche Mode, the Cure, Aerosmith, Beach boys, Green Day, Linklin Park, Supertramp, Dire Straits, Talking Heads... well I could go on and on, but I think you get the idea (as those groups are all over the spectrum). My favorite rod is probably any pre-60's truck (take your pick) Though I've been raised on FORDs (thats First On Race Day for those of you that don't know any better .
