Dano, how 'bout this?
This is a test, maybe we should call it a KERD test! This one is so simple, you'd have to be a complete idiot not to get it.
Name this car, year, and engine. Pretty simple, eh?Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon

Not intentionally missing the posts. It may be the way i'm surfing the forums tho'.
Looks to be the Ford Prototype Mustang of '63. Christ, what'd that call it, the Mach III?
To point out a fact, I;m answering all these on the spot, not surfing the net or peering through the books. All my answers for your "Guess what this is" stuff is right off the top of my cranium.Dan Ouellette

Victory can sometimes be so elusive. Ford did do a Mustang prototype in 1963, and here's what it looked like. Mach III, you getting confused with Gilette here?Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon

You lost me on the Flathead statemant... where you going with it?
I'm wrong... huh... imagine that. Well it's a damn mustnag prototype of some sort. It's defonately ford and I see Mustang Logo on the damn hood... beats me then. Must be an earlier concept.
As for the avatar, it's all I had and I didn't like the weird shaking engines thay had and I wanted something different from everyone elses avatar. Besides, I never said I didn't like Chevies, I just implied they were junk...Dan Ouellette

That 63 Mustang prototype is here in Maine at the Owls Head Transportation Museum near Rockland Maine. Most of the people who see it think it's just a customized Mustang.
What language are you talking about ? Does damn offend you or was it the part about Chevies being junk?" Im gone'

Thanks for the update Al. It's amazing where some of these old concept cars end up.
The slinky little two seater is the original concept car, the Mustang I and was released in 1962. It had a German Ford V4 engine mounted midships. The seat was fixed in one position and the pedals were moved to adjust for driver size variations. (That's all from memory Dano ). It was a funtional car that was driven a number of times, unlike some concept cars that are merely static display pieces.
The '63 car was called the Mustang II, a name later revived for the custom grilled Pinto's (sorry Mike, couldn't resist).Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon

Hey Dano
This isn't a Ford, but if all cars were they'd never have invented a tow truck.
Can you identify this?
Yes, you can search for it
Hints...Hmmm....this brand is NOT made anymore, but the company that made it is still making cars.Chris

Must be a Buick creation. Sorry, I don't have any time to search for it. Definately looks like a Buick Prototype. You can't mistake those GM roof lines and the "Corvette" looking side treatments.
Am I close?Dan Ouellette

Huh... I though Buick was dropped from GM's line. I guess not! Uhhhh well, that leaves Olds or Pontiac that I can think of at the moment. I'll say Pontiac. It's gotta be a Pontiac, Olds would build something like that. Then again... who knows?Dan Ouellette
